NATURE'S BEAUTY MASCULINE BIRTHDAY

Image
Hello, Stampers!      Veering away from the Christmas cards for this post; although with a change in color combination, it would be a perfect Christmas card  I'm so happy this set is not retiring when the Holiday Catalog ends!  This template is called the half door or half barn door.  It's very easy to make, so head to my blog to read more ! SIP SIP HOORAY EASY BOTTLE TAGS FOR YOUR GIFT-GIVING

Image
Hello, Stampers!      These bottle tags are so, so easy to make and make a great addition to your host gifts.  They are 2" x 6-1/4" and scored at 2-1/2" from the top.  Insert the top as far as you can into a 1-1/4" circle punch (or equivalent circle die), center, punch and decorate!  More below.

ANOTHER FUN SIP SIP HOORAY! CARD - December Stamp Camp

Image
Hello, Stampers!      Here is another card from December Stamp Camp.  Do you love this colorful background? It's  not  Pigment Sprinkles or Brusho - it's See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper!        We ran the piece of 3-3/4 x 5 DSP through the Big Shot on the Precision Plate with the bubbles/holes die from the Sip Sip Hooray Bundle and then with the Subtle embossing folder (optional), and adhered it to a 5-1/4 x 4 layer of Pacific Point CS.  The cocktail glasses were stamped in Memento and die cut from Shimmery White CS and we added some Multi Liquid Glue and Ice Glitter along the top edge (if you like salt on your margarita). 😉  See close-up below.  The margarita is stamped with Soft Sea Foam with Clear Wink of Stella added.  The top glass is mounted on Dimensionals at the top and glue dot at the bottom.  More below. STAMPIN' UP!'S SIP SIP HOORAY! - December Stamp Camp

Image
Hi, Stampers!      I'm detouring a little from sharing the Christmas SAS cards to share three projects we created at my December Stamp Camp.  The Sip Sip Hooray Bundle will NOT be carried over from the Holiday Catalog - so, perfect time to buy it is TODAY.  I might even send out emails with this post, because you would normally not get notified of it until tomorrow, unless you check my blog on a regular basis.  Anyhow...      I came across this sketch on Patty Bennett's Blog, but certainly did my own take on it.  The card stock is black on black - champagne flutes (sp?) are cut out in any position you like from the 5-1/4 x 4 layer.  A 3-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Silver Glimmer Paper is adhered to the card base to show through the cutouts.  The cutout layer  is popped up on Dimensionals, including a few extra near the openings .  More below. CHRISTMAS STAMP-A-STACK SAMPLES - #3

Image
Hi, again, Stampers!      It's that busy time of year and two stampin' events in two weeks kept me pretty busy.  Anyway, here are two more card styles from my November Stamp-a-Stack.  Actually, we did not emboss the snow as shown in the bottom card, we just used the puffy snow, added snow glitter to it and heated it.  No need to emboss.    We also simplified the delicate little stick hands by just punching them out of Soft Suede or Early Espresso card stock, since some of them were going to be covered with felt, anyway.  I love those felt embellishments.  We used one or two on each of these cards - stamper's choice.      We used Wobblies to pop up our snowmen for some extra fun and also, on the top card, the retired Swirly Scribbles Dies with Sparkle Glimmer Paper.   Products below. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

CHRISTMAS STAMP-A-STACK SAMPLES - #2

Image
Hi, again, Stampers!      We went with some retro ornaments for this group of cards (two more below).  We made just one of each of these.  The dies are from the retired Delicate Ornaments set and we used sentiments from several current and retired Christmas sets, including Embellished Ornaments, the stamp set that coordinates with the Delicate Ornaments dies.  I usually keep holiday sets for several years because of the sentiments.      As you can see, we did use several current items - the Mercury Glass Acetate, Real Red Glimmer Paper and gold and silver Foil-Edged Cards and Envelopes.  Here are two more cards from this group.

CHRISTMAS STAMP-A-STACK SAMPLES - #1

Image
Hello, Stampers!      It's been a while!  I've been busy furniture painting and preparing for last Saturday's Christmas Stamp-a-Stack.  This is the first of the five cards we made (4 each).*  It is really quite simple and I think you can duplicate it just by looking at the supplies we used below.  The main ingredients are the Merry Moose Bundle** and it is based on the template for the sample on page 4 of the Holiday Catalog!  More info HERE .

Hi, Stampers!      I've neglected my blog and stamping lately for furniture painting, but now I'm between layers and can post.      We created the above card at July Stamp Camp (see my post dated July 17).  I thought it might look cute for Christmas with some Chickadees and plaid, so here it is.  I kind of wish the branch didn't have flowers on it and tried to disguise them as berries with Shimmery Crystal Effects and embellishments - not necessarily successfully, but I still like it. IT'S STILL FALL AND I DO LOVE FALL COLORS! + STAMPIN' TRIMMER

Image
Hi, Stampers!      It's about time, you say?  I just realized my last post was almost 10 days ago!  Time flies when you're having fun (or re-painting furniture) and losing a day to computer issues.  BUT, I digress.      First, the new Stampin' Up! Paper Trimmer ( Paper Trimmer, item 152392,  $25.00 US) will be available November 1st!  Click the image below to go to my October 6 post for more details.  (Multi-packs of cutting blades will be available in January.)     Now, about this beautiful fall card.  If you own the lovely new Gathered Leaves Dies, yay!  I don't.  Do you have the Colorful Seasons set and Seasonal Layers dies? Then you're all set to create some great projects similar to those showcased with the Come Together suite!  Details here . Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

MORE FROM OCTOBER STAMP CAMP - MOSAIC DAISIES

Image
Hello, again, Stampin' Friends -      This is another creation from my October stamp camp. This is my variation of the card posted by Cheri Stojkovich on FB, Cheri's Cards.  Of course, it is impossible to recreate this beauty without the Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP (#149478, p.167).  Details here. MARKERS TECHNIQUE TO CREATE FALL WITH WINTER WOODS - October Stamp Camp

Image
Happy Fall, Stampers!    I've seen a couple of versions of a color-layering technique with this set and the Stamparatus, one or two with Sponge Daubers and Patty Bennett has a video tutorial (using mostly greens) with Stampin' Write Markers.  You can find it here .     Basically, you just use any colors you want - we used colors for Fall - place your stamp where you want it on your card front, pick it up with your Stamparatus and off you go!  Your Simply Shammy or baby wipes will come in handy, too.        NOTE:  Color the tree trunks last, just in case your paper inadvertently moves a little. Hi, Stampers!        Click the photo to get a close-up look at the stamps and click here to go to Pinterest to get some ideas, from works of art to the clean and simple. Of course, almost any set with trees grabs me, and I love the little deer!  Think about how you might combine it with parts and pieces of your Waterfront stamp set (#146386, p.125 AC) and more.  I love the samples I've seen with the Wrapped in Plaid Specialty DSP (#149596, p.14 HC) as the background layer.  Trees and holiday plaids, what could be better?  ;-) There are so many things you can do with this set. You can create a complete scene, or take little elements and create something new entirely, or create a no-layers card (some of my favorites, especially for note cards). The opportunities are endless. So. Many. Layers! This stamp set was designed as a Two-Step set, so pack on those layers,

FUN HALLOWEEN NOTE CARDS - October Stamp Camp

Image
Hi, Stampers!      Each of us played around and made a version of this note card at my October Stamp Camp.  Love the books from the Monster Bash DSP.  The little spider jar is fussy-cut from one of the sheets in that pack, as well.  We used mostly retired stamps and a few other retired products. I also had available the stamps included with the October Paper pumpkin treats kit - love the skeletons!  We used the Monster Bash Enamel Shapes, Cat Punch and the retired Bitty Bat Punch - each of us just did our own thing.  Products here. WASHI PRESSED PETALS CARD

Image
Hello there, Stampers!      Another card from September stamp camp.  I love, love this photographic Pressed Petals Specialty DSP, which perfectly coordinates with the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape.        You will need a Very Vanilla card base 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2.  Mossy Meadow CS, 5 x 3-3/4 and scrap for leaves; two pieces DSP, 5 x 3-3/4 and 2 x 4-1/2; Petals Washi and Flower Centers.       We used the Classic Label punch for the sentiment from Butterfly Gala.  See more... WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR LEFTOVER DIE CUT - BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP NOTE CARD

Image
Hello, Stampers!      You may recall that when I posted about the Perrenial Essence Lilypad/Lakeside card, I suggested you hang on to the section you cut out with the Stitched Rectangle Die to form the frame.  This is what we created with that leftover rectangle - so pretty, so easy and so handy to have in your stash.  More info. IT'S NEVER TOO EARLY TO START PREPARING FOR CHRISTMAS! and STAMPIN' UPDATES and TIPS

Image
Hello, Stampers!      Some of you are probably surprised to hear from me because right now we are supposed to be in Nova Scotia on a tour.  Long story short, hurricane Dorian resulted in our flight to Halifax from Toronto being cancelled on Saturday, and I wasn't able to book flights for Sunday before they were sold out, although I'm not sure if they would have flown as scheduled, either.        Anyway, above is a little stop-motion video to nudge you toward deciding what you'd like to create for the holidays, because we know it's never too early to start if you want to create your own holiday cards!  No, I haven't forgotten about Fall and Thanksgiving.  ;-)        Speaking of creating, Paper Pumpkin usually has some great Fall and Christmas ideas to speed things along.  (I hope you were able to sign up for your PP Halloween treats kit this month!) SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW... FOR HALLOWEEN - COFFIN TREAT BOXES FROM THE 2019 HOLIDAY CATALOG!

Image
Hi, Stampers!      I recommend the September Paper Pumpkin kit for your quick treat-making, of course, but I had my heart set on using these coffin boxes from the Holiday Catalog for the holiday treats I usually pass out to the folks in my spin class - death by chocolate!      The boxes go together easily with Multipurpose Glue or Tear & Tape (or Fast Fuse) - all scored and cut for you - just decorate as you wish!  Here, I embossed the lids and on the right one I used the Swirls & Curls embossing folder.  I lightly brushed it with the new Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink Pad, as well.  I got the embossing idea from CreatewithChristy on YouTube.       Unfortunately, I have very few of the new Halloween items from the Holiday Catalog, so I went with what I had and even resorted to printing my own!  More info here.   Frankly, it would be a lot easier with the Monster Bash Bundle (love those frames), but...   LOL Happy Stampin’! SIMPLE WATERCOLOR MAGNOLIA and a Reminder

Image
Hi, Stampers!      I hope you enjoy a pleasant Labor Day and that you have lovely weather for what is considered summer's last hurrah.  :-(   But, one good thing about September, besides that it's usually a beautiful month, it's Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog time!  The HC is open for business on Wednesday, September 4.    Okay, to this card...      I saw the original of this card on Pinterest by Debbie Henderson - I like hers better, but thought I'd share mine, anyway, 'cause it's still pretty, I think.  I don't think you can exactly duplicate with water-coloring - either you've got it (the talent) or you don't - I'm somewhere in between I think.      Anyway, click here or the photo for the details .  TFL Happy Stampin’! FIRST CHRISTMAS CARD IDEA - STAMPIN' UP! MERRY MOOSE (PUNCH) BUNDLE SNEAK PEEK - Available Sept. 4

Image
Hello, Stampers!      As a demonstrator with SU!, I can pre-order from catalogs a month in advance, so I've had the Merry Moose Bundle (p.27) for a week or so.  I've been itching to experiment with it for Christmas - you know it will be here before we know it!  Links will go live Sept. 4.      Since I was experimenting, I used a retired plaid Christmas DSP, but for the real thing, I will use paper from the Wrapped in Plaid Specialty 6x6 Pack (pp.12-15 HC).  I am partial to plaids for non-secular holiday cards.      I used two more new products in the Holiday Catalog, as well.  Basic Pattern Decorative Masks (p. 35) and Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink Pad for the background and to stamp the moose silhouette, which is popped up on Dimensionals.  The Delicata is much prettier IRL - nice and sparkly.      The card Base is Thick WW, as is the punched moose.  The third largest Stitched Rectangle Die can be used to cut the white layer - the edges are sponged with Delicat

STAMPIN' UP! MAGNOLIA LANE SUITE 3D

Image
Hi, Stampers!      This is another sample from my August stamp camp, introducing my stampin' friends to this lovely suite (pp. 36-39 Annual Catalog).  This card is super easy, but is not quite as it appears.  It appears that the embossing and scalloped edge were cut and embossed on the front of the base and that the DSP is actually on the inside of the base.  Actually, the scalloped, embossed layer and the 1" x 4" DSP strip are attached to the front of the card base.  The embossed layer is popped up on Dimensionals.  See more here. . Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

STAMPIN' UP! GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIA BUNDLE IN PINK AND YELLOW

Image
Hiya, Stampers!      We created this card with the very popular Good Morning Magnolia Bundle (pp.36-39) - isn't it lovely?  No, the beautiful magnolia and leaves are not fussy-cut!  Yea!  Leaves and flower cut with one die (although there are lots of others in the set). We die-cut a small flower for the inside of the card and you can add your desired sentiment at the lower left. Click here for more and to see this card in Petal Pink . Happy Stampin’! PETALS WASHI TAPE CARD FRONT - NEW LINK

Image
Hi, Stampers!      It appears the link to the photos of how to make the petal flowers for this post was faulty.  Here is the correct link.  Or, you can click below on "Read in browser" below my signature.  So sorry for the confusion. How to photos here. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

EASY CARD FRONT WITH STAMPIN' UP! PETALS WASHI AND SPECIALTY DSP

Image
Hi, Stampers!    This lovely card was so easy to create.  The 3-1/2 x 5 top layer is a section of one of the sheets in the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP (12 x 12).  This particular page is sectioned off into gorgeous photographic florals and backgrounds that are perfect for card fronts and scrapbook pages.  I made the 3D flowers accents on this particular floral wreath piece of DSP from the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape in the Annual Catalog (p.172).  How-to photos here. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

STAMPIN' UP! SAILING HOME THROUGH STORMY SEAS

Image
Hello, Stampers!      The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this particular pattern in the wonderfully colorful See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper, was a storm at sea.  So... I grabbed my Sailing Home Bundle because it is perfect for that theme, but I also made a second one using the sentiment, "Let hope be your lighthouse..." from the High Tide set.   Read more of this post. STAMPIN' UP!'S BACK ON YOUR FEET FOR BEGINNERS CARD BUFFET

Image
Hello, Stampers!      I hope you are able to stay reasonably cool during this miserable heat wave.  It looks like it might break overnight here in Indiana - I emphasize the word might.  I have used this good excuse to stay indoors to begin preparing for a card-making "outing" a professional friend of mine has planned for her staff early in August.  Each year the office closes for a day and she plans and treats her staff to a surprise outing - last year they did goat Yoga!  This class will certainly be a far cry from that.  They will do something outdoors for part of the day and then to my house - they have never stamped!          I pre-stamped all of the images for these note cards (based on cards shared on Pinterest by Amy Koendors, using the Scalloped Note Cards).  My group will stamp their own sentiments and, of course, color and assemble.  I even pre-tied the bows and, per a tip from my upline, attached them to a strip of glue dots! See more by clicking "Read
