STENCILED CONGRATS CARD - PAPER PLAYERS CHALLENGE #433 - NEW! CARDS FOR SALE!

Hi, Stampers!
I have a new stencil (from Funky Fossils) and although that is not the name of the design, to me it screamed skyscrapers, urban, big city, etc.  I knew exactly how I wanted to use it and the The Paper Players Challenge 433 - One Layer Wonder - fit the bill, as well.
I sponged the stencil on Whisper White CS with Pacific Point and also thinly around the edges.  The "congrats" is die-cut from the Sale-a-Bration Grapefruit Grove Foil with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and the sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! set, Lift Me Up.  The card base is Grapefruit Grove CS. Products on my blog or below.

     CARDS FOR SALE
ANY of the cards you see on my Blog can be purchased!  Far less $ than in a store.  If anyone is interested, post a comment and I will set a general price.

STAMPIN' UP!® LASTING LILY FOR A WEDDING and SALE-A-BRATION WINDING DOWN SOON

Hi, Stampers!
To some of us, lilies mean not just sympathy and Easter, but weddings.  What's great about this set, with just two sizes of one flower, is that you can use any color you like and customize your card to match the couple's wedding color scheme, which makes it an even more special keepsake.
Remember, this popular set is available only during Sale-A-Bration, as a Level 2 reward and it is now on Low Inventory.
I stamped the lilies in Flirty Flamingo ink using the Stamparatus, and the stems and leaves with Pear Pizzazz.  If you have the Lily Framelits, you can die-cut them or, they are easily hand-cut.  Unfortunately, the Framelits have just sold out.
The lacy cut-out on my Whisper White card front was made using Eastern Medallion Thinlits. The layer behind it is Soft Sea Foam and the card base is Flirty Flamingo.  I added a bow of 5/8" Polka Dot Ribbon and a wedding sentiment from a retired set (Rose Wonder).  I often associate pearls with a wedding, too, so I added three up in the corner.  The sketch for my card was inspired by a similar one in Berry Burst, by Mary Brown, the Stamper Camper.  Products below.

STAMPIN' UP!® LET IT RIDE (IN THE BARN) - PLAYING AROUND, AGAIN

Hello, Stampers!
Cloudy and gray yesterday; perfect for staying inside and playing with my stamps.  Let it Ride is a new set and I haven't used Barn Door in a while, soooo, what goes better with barns or stables than horses?
My barn wall is, of course, Wood Textures DSP - i couldn't get any easier than that.  The barn door (just cut in half) and mat are traditional Real Red, base is Very Vanilla.  I stamped the door in Early Espresso and also a few weeds or grains from Home to Roost at the bottom left. My chestnut Bay horse was stamped in Memento and colored with Dark Cajun Craze and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends.  The rope is just medium Baker's Twine.  Products are below.  Here's the inside.

INSPIRE.CREATE.CHALLENGES - #038 Sketch Challenge

No photo description available.

Hi, Stampers!
The above Inspire.Create.Challenges 038 Sketch Challenge was too simple for me to pass up.  I flipped it and used a piece of Whisper White Country Floral embossed card stock and added my cute squirrel friend from Fable Friends. Both were colored with Stampin' Blends. The lavender background is from the Needlepoint Nook DSP pack.  That's it!

JUST PLAYING, WITH STAMPIN' UP!® HAPPY TAILS AND MORE

Hi, Stampers!
Such a yucky day, so I sat down to play around with my new stamp set, Happy Tails (see it wag?), and it took off from there!  SU! sets work so well together, even with other, non-SU! items you might have around the house.  I used bits of 4 SU! stamp sets for this card.
I hadn't used the At Home With You set in some time, so I brought it out, along with A wreath from the Barn Door bundle, and the sentiment from Home to Roost!  I didn't want this door to be just flat, and I didn't want to put the sentiment inside the door, so I dug around and came across a stamp/die set I've had for some time from Taylored Expressions, and decided to put it to use inside the "house."  You could easily use DSP to make wallpaper, instead.
You can't tell unless you look really close, unfortunately, but I used the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF, horizontally, for the house.  The door is cut from the Wood Textures DSP.

STAMPIN' UP!® LEMON ZEST NOTE CARD

Hello, Stampers!
This is such a solid set for several "occasions."  There are sentiments for birthday, get well, tough times, encouragement, even a valentine.  I love puns, too, so this one's right up my alley.
I stamped the lemons on Glossy White CS and ran the top lemon through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling TIEF, rough side on top, to get a peel effect.  Pretty realistic, don't you think?  The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive and all were punched out with the Lemon Builder Punch.  I added a bow of Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon, a Glitter Enamel Dot,wrapped the bottom edge in black pattern Washi-tape and stamped the envelope.  My inside sentiment says, "Chuck them right back!"  A quick little card with a big message.  Products below.

ENCOURAGEMENT CARD WITH STAMPIN' UP!® FABLE FRIENDS

Hi, Stampers!
The images in the SU! Fable Friends set are so like the adorable illustrations in Beatrix Potter books, and I love these little ducklings.  I kept thinking, "ducks in a row, ducks in a row..."  I decided the phrase was perfect for someone in our family trying to cope with a major life change and, voila!, I utilized my newly discovered (to me, anyway) method to add my own verse inside a card.  It sure opens up lots of possibilities!
I've listed products below, which is really all you need to know.  Everything else is pretty much standard.  The Shimmery White stitched rectangle is 2-3/8 x 3-5/8; the offset piece of Grapefruit Grove is 2-3/4 x 3-3/4.  One note of caution:  use markers, not Blends for coloring the mama goose on the inside of your card, because it might show through the back - take it from me.  ;-(

QUICK & EASY STAMPIN' UP! FABLE FRIENDS TREAT TAGS FOR EASTER

Hello, Stampers!
It's never too early to start on making favors when you have to make about 20 of them!  And when the Easter candy hits the shelves, I get started. Out of necessity, I always try to come up with something quick and easy to share. These little bags hold a dozen Easter "eggs" (by M&M's) and are tied with whatever thick or medium SU! Baker's twine I had laying around, or a narrow ribbon works great, too.
I used pieces of Gingham Gala DSP for the tags (p.35, OC) cut 2 x 4-1/2 and punched with the Tag Topper Punch and I rounded the corners.  I stamped the bunny and goose in Memento on WW card stock and colored just a few areas with Blends - clothes, ears, bill, feet - and die-cut with a scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies.  Stamped the sentiment in color or Memento.  Oval is added with liquid glue, the sentiment with a glue dot or Dimensionals. Tie your bag shut, add and tie the tag and you're done!  I've only got 15 more to go!  ;-D  Products are below.

I'M A SUCKER FOR GALAXIES - Non-SU! BIRTHDAY CARD SHARE

Hi, Stampers!
I love anything that looks like the night sky, the galaxy, the Northern Lights - and if I can get my hands on it, I have to use it for a card.  And now that I have learned how to print my own verses inside the card, the possibilities are endless - well, limited to my imagination, anyway.  I came across this, what I thought was "Watercolor Nebula" DSP online, but it is Washi tape (by Altenew).  I had to have it, regardless.  It came in a roll (it's 7" wide!) and, of course, now I have way, way more than I can ever possibly use.
I just added a "happy" sentiment die-cut from SU! Galvanized Metallic Paper and offset another cut from Mango Melody and added a Mango Melody mat.  The "birthday" is from the SU!  Perennial Birthday set, punched out with the Classic Label Punch.  Perfect for a masculine birthday, too.  The version below is accented with a Gorgeous Grape mat and the Grapefruit Grove SAB Foil offset over SU! Silver Glimmer Paper - looks much better IRL.

Hello, Stampers!
Looks like March will be coming in like a lion in Indiana, so it's time for something to cheer us up!
Do you ever wonder how we made cards without the Big Shot?  I love the SAB, Phase 2 Country Floral Dynamic TIEF, don't you?  I posted a quick, monochromatic card on Feb 22, which you can see HERE.
I used Shimmery White CS for the embossed area, inked the TIEF with Soft Sea Foam, and colored the flowers and leaves with Stampin' Blends.  The mat and base are Pear Pizzaz and Petal Pink, the ribbon is Pear Pizzaz Shimmer.  Supplies are on my blog.

HAND DELIVERED FOR ST. PATTY'S DAY and I FINALLY LEARNED HOW TO PRINT CUSTOM SENTIMENTS INSIDE A CARD!

Card 1

Hello, Stampers!
I don't know about where you are, but here in Indiana, we have high winds - in fact, our mailbox post snapped!  It was getting loose and most likely the in-ground part was pretty rotten.  But still - yikes!
Anyway, I just wanted to make one or two St. Patrick's Day cards - as you have probably figured out, DH is Irish.  I don't have any Patty's Day sets, so I settled on the Stampin' Up! host set, Hand Delivered (p.229).  Also, I no longer have any Patty's Day sentiment stamps except my 15-year-old Teeny Tiny Wishes set, so what do I add on the inside?
I grabbed a big mug of tea and set to work.  I use MS Word so I looked online starting with that, and what I saw involved text boxes and paper sizes, etc., and my printer is pretty old, so I have to use standard sizes.  Me thought to meself, there must be an easier way.  After quite a bit of trial and error, I have three documents saved all set up, just using different margins.  Ta dah!
It's much faster, of course, to stamp something, but if you don't have what you want or need, there are lots of free sentiments online, so long as you are mindful of copyrights, etc.
Here is the second, easier card I made - same set, but I didn't go so overboard on the balloons.  Find the instructions for these cards on my blog.  Just click any of the photos and "read more" on the blog.

STAMPIN' UP! ® COUNTRY FLORAL DYNAMIC TI EMBOSSING FOLDER - HAVE YOU SEEN.....?

Hi,Stampers!
Look at the relief and texture on this card!  I have seen lots of ideas for this Dynamic TIEF that is FREE with a $50 purchase.  You can see it on the inside of the SAB brochure for Phase 2 (2/15 - 3/31 - on my sidebar), along with some lovely samples, and more online, including some great videos.  I will share a couple of my samples here.
Does it look like I colored the flowers on this piece with WW Craft Ink?  Uh uh.  I inked the background of the TIEF!  It was super easy.  I think I could have used a lighter, brighter yellow, like Daffodil Delight, but I used So Saffron, the color of the card stock.  You can use any color you choose, but for this recipe, I'll stick with So Saffron.  Let's get started!

Happy Stampin’!
Sue Duffy ~

mandsduffy@comcast.net

Instructions
  • Card base is Smoky Slate, 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4; two pieces of So Saffron (or, really, any lighter color you choose - Grapefruit, Blushing Bride, Pool Party, Balmy Blue), 4 x 4 and 3-3/4 x 3-3/4; WW 5-1/4 x 4 for inside..
  • As evenly as possible and not too heavy, Ink the TIEF with So Saffron Classic Ink on the side of the folder that contains the Stampin' Up! logo, add 3-3/4" piece of So Saffron and run through Big Shot. and enjoy the amazing results.  ;-)  Don't forget to rinse off and dry your embossing folder.
  • Adhere embossed piece to 4x4 So Saffron with liquid glue.  Add desired ribbon and glue or tape to front of card base.  Stamp greeting* in Basic Gray or Black, punch or die-cut shape and pop up with Dimensionals.
  • Add a little Wink of Stella to the smallest flowers.  Add embellishment(s) and a WW card stock to inside and decorate.
*I used the Happy Birthday greeting from a retired stamp set, Rose Wonder and retired glimmer ribbon in Gray.  Find more products I used on my blog.

Stampin' Up!® LASTING LILY SYMPATHY CARD

Hello, Stampers -
The majority of the sentiments in the Lasting Lily Stamp Set (FREE with $100 order) are for sympathy cards.  In yesterday's post, I shared an Easter card.  I came across the embossed lily idea online and since it seemed to show best on black, I figured this one should definitely be a sympathy card, much as we hate to have to send them.  Let's get started!
You can find a product list on my blog.

Sue Duffy ~
mandsduffy@comcast.net

Instructions
  • Card base is WW Thick CS; the Daffodil Delight layer is 4 x 5-1/4 and the black started out as 5 x 3-3/4.  Scraps of Shimmery White and Daffodil for the sentiment.
  • Lightly dust the black cs with the Embossing Buddy, then stamp Lily, stem and leaf with Versamark ink; cover with White EP and heat emboss.
  • Cut a curved edge on the black cs by hand or use the curved edge die from the In the Woods Framelits Dies, placing die at roughly 1" from right edge of black at top and bottom.
  • Highlight the stamen and along the folds of the lily with Dark Mango Melody Blends; color stem and leaves with Dark Old Olive Blends.
  • Emboss Daffodil CS with the Subtle Dynamic TIEF and adhere the black piece with Liquid Glue; wrap ribbon and fasten to the back of the Daffodil and adhere all layers to the WW Thick CS base.
  • Stamp desired sentiment in Basic Black on Shimmery CS and die-cut with label from the Lily Framelits Dies (available March 1); cut a second piece label of Daffodil and add to the Shimmery, offset a little at the top; add to card front with Dimensionals.
  • Tie knot or small bow onto the ribbon and stamp a small lily inside with Crushed Curry, if desired.

STAMPIN' UP!® SALE-A-BRATION CAS - LASTING LILY FOR EASTER

Hello, Stampers!
I really like the sample card in the Sale-a-Bration Brochure on p.18, so I decided to see if I could duplicate the look.  It was pretty easy, really, especially with the Lily Framelits Dies that will be available to purchase March 1-31 during the SAB Coordination Promotion.  You can find more info about that promo in my February 5 post, here.  Let's get started.  Full Instructions are on my blog.

STAMPIN' UP!® BOTANICAL BUTTERFLY GALA and GRAPEFRUIT GROVE FOIL - February 2019 STAMP CAMP

Hello, Stampers!
I've got three versions of this card to share today, using different embossing folders and a variation of butterflies.  The front and center above is my favorite because I like this embossed background the best - it is the new Dot to Dot TIEF in the Occasions Catalog, p.25.  Below are the other two.  I imagine a background with the new Flower Garden Dynamic TIEF (SAB 2) would be gorgeous, as well.

Basket Weave TIEF

Swirls & Curls TIEF
DO YOU NOTICE ANYTHING ELSE different about one of these samples?  The butterflies on the card with the Basket Weave background were not stamped, they were punched out of the Botanical Butterfly FREE DSP!  Can it get any easier?  Instructions are below (on my blog).
