MORE SHARE SUNSHINE COVID-19 DOWNLOAD SAMPLES

Image
Hi, Stampers! Here are two more easy samples for you using the $12 Covid-19 .pdf that you can order here.   https://covid19.stampinup.com/ The two Quarantini cards are quick and easy to make.  The slightly different template was inspired by Jackie Bolhuis' card at Klompen Stampers.  Once again, I used retired DSP scraps, so I will not list that here.  The only stamp I used is "It's your day!," from the Under My Umbrella set, which fit perfectly over the top of the "Have another Quaran-tini" sentiment from the download.  Find measurements and supplies below. EMBOSSED AND WATERCOLORED - LOVELY MAGNOLIAS

Image
Hello, Stampers! I'm so glad the Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder is not retiring.  I embossed watercolor card stock with the embossing folder and then just colored it with ink pads and here and there with Stampin' Blends.  It's hard to tell here, but the turned up edges of the magnolias are colored Soft Sea Foam and I added Clear Wink of Stella to the flower centers.  The DSP is Magnolia Lane. I did run into one problem.  Watercolor card stock has a mind of it's own and/or I embossed it too deeply - I ran it through the Big Shot several times.  I had some problems with warping, so if I try it again, I may try going light on the water and using Shimmery White CS instead.  The background is a combination of Blushing Bride and Petal Pink.  The leaves were die-cut with the Magnolia Memories Dies.  The sentiment is embossed on Mossy Meadow and is from a very old set I go to often, Warmest Regards.  More colors and supplies are below. EMPATHY CARD FOR A FRIEND - I THINK STAMPIN' UP! SHOULD HIRE ME - NEEDLEPOINT NOOK DSP

Image
Hiya, Stampers!      I have a friend who is going through some aggravating times right now, so I hope she gets a chuckle out of this card.  (I hope she doesn't read my blog, because I haven't mailed it yet - I'm pretty sure she doesn't - she's not a crafter or stamper.)      I couldn't resist these puns, I think that's what they are, anyway.  I created the sentiments in Word.  The inside sentiment says, "Sew sorry times are tough right now."  ;-)  They made me smile.  Details on my Blog. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

SPECIAL VALENTINES - CAN YOU HAVE TOO MUCH LACE? STAMPIN' UP! ® LACE DYNAMIC TIEF

Image
GINGHAM AND LACE Hi, Stampers!       Can you tell these photos are both the same card, just with different lighting?  I do love the FREE Grapefruit Grove iridescent foil in the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  I snapped the photo on the left near a window in natural light (it's overcast today) and couldn't seem to get the proper angle to show off the gorgeous highlights in this foil.  I had the card sitting on my desk getting ready to post some details and thought I'd see how it looked under my halogen desk lamp.  Wow!  So, I had to include both pics for you.      This is a really simple card, although certainly fussy-looking.  The mat layer is Smoky Slate because SS is the only gingham ribbon I have and I wanted to use it for a little contrast with all that lace.  The top layer is just WW embossed with the Dynamic Lace TIEF, as is the larger die-cut heart.  You could also emboss the smaller heart.  I decided to use "thankful for you" rather than the typic

FLOWERING DESERT for THE PAPER PLAYERS SKETCH CHALLENGE PP426 -

Image
Hello, again, Stampers!      I received an email from The Paper Players  today with the new sketch and the placement of the sentiment is what actually hooked me.  I love this particular sentiment from Flowering Desert, but it's fairly long for the front of a card, so this sketch was perfect.  I poofed (another not in OED) my sentiment out a little bit in order to show a little more of the prickly-pear.  Not sure if you can tell, but the background is embossed with the Subtle TIEF. IS A VALENTINE IN ANY OTHER COLOR JUST AS SWEET? STAMPIN' UP! ANIMAL OUTING BUNDLE (AGAIN)

Image
Hi, Stampers!      Can you tell I'm fond of the Animal Outing Bundle?  Of course, this doesn't have to be a Valentine, but I love the Grapefruit Grove 2018-20 In Color and also wanted to use some of the new Gingham Gala DSP from the Occasions Catalog.  Could be a thank you, anniversary, too.  Anyway, I just love this kind of haughty little giraffe from the Bundle and the heart Thinlits from Sunshine Wishes, which I die cut from the SAB FREE Grapefruit Grove (iridescent) Foil.  There's also Lovely Lipstick in the foil pack for those of you who want to stick to the more traditional Valentine colors.  And, there is a perfect "love" die in the Sunshine Wishes set.   The giraffe was stamped with Memento on Shimmery White and colored with Stampin' Blends.       The leaf on which I stamped the sentiment is a die from the Tropical Thinlits (part of the Tropical Chic Bundle).  And, of course, I couldn't use one of my animals without the Leaf Ribbon!  See my Jan

STAMPIN' UP! HOME TO ROOST AGAIN - YOU JUST CAN'T CAS AN ARTISAN - i GAVE IT A SHOT

Image
Hiya, Stampers!      Yes, it's Home to Roost again.  I saw a wonderful watercolor card with this set and had to CAS!  Well, I attempted, to CAS this card by Emma Goddard, who is a member of the SU! 2019 Artisan Design Team - silly me!  Emma's looks much more like art.  Click the photo below to go to her blog for more info.  In the meantime, I will list products below - I used the same colors as Emma, but added a strip of DSP at the bottom.. NOTE:  these cards were water-colored, so Emma and I both used Jet Black Stazon on Shimmery White.  You could also use Watercolor Paper. Happy Stampin’! TWO VERSIONS OF STAMPIN' UP!'s HOME TO ROOST - FREE with $50 ORDER DURING SAB

Image
Version 1 Hello, Stampers!      I love this stamp set - not just because it's FREE during Sale-A-Bration, but because it's just different and it can be colored in so many ways!  The rooster was stamped in Memento and we used a combination of Stampin' Blends and Stampin' Write Markers at stamp camp, but since we used Shimmery White CS.  You can also watercolor this handsome fellow on Shimmery White or WC paper.  We used the retired Snowflake Doilies in gold as an accent because my customers already have them and they, to me, look like feathers!  We added Gold Faceted Gems as an additional accent.        The card base and Tin Tile embossed layer are Tranquil Tide - both the embossed layer and the oval are popped up with Dimensionals.  In Version 1, the oval is the largest of the ovals from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.   We masked the rooster in order to stamp the background wheat (?) in regular and stamped-off Crumb Cake.   You'll have to vis it my B

PAINTED GLASS IRIS - FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES Challenge #363

Image
Hi, Stampers!      Above is my submission for FMS Challenge #363.  Here is the template.  Read on.      I've been wanting to make something with the pretty irises in the Graceful Glass Vellum paper stack and, since the panel is long and narrow, this sketch fit the bill.  My irises panel is full card length, but I think that will still be acceptable.  Then, what to use for the accent strip.  I looked through all of my current DSP and found this "marble" pattern in the Petal Promenade DSP - perfect - stained glass and marble.     The only other adjustment I made to the sketch is that I trimmed my card front at 3-1/4" and added the DSP strip to the exposed inside of the card.  Not sure if you can tell that from the photo.
