IT'S JUST YOU AND ME, VALENTINE.

Image
Hello, again, stampin' friends.     This simple card can also be used as an anniversary or even BFF card. First, on watercolor cardstock, using Stampin' Up! ink pads and the Aqua Painter (now called Water Painters), I created a washed landscape-type background.  The trees are from the Snowfront SU! stamp set, stamped in Gorgeous Grape.       I die cut a heart "window" with an older SU! hearts die set on white cardstock and mounted it over the watercolor background piece.  I stamped the rabbits with Versafine Clair Nocturne (black) ink and the hearts with red.  Rabbits:  Lavinia Stamps Wild Hares (large) set.

THE OWL AND THE PUSSYCAT went to sea . . . - Lavinia Stamps

Image
Good afternoon, Stampers!     Thought I'd share a couple of Valentine-themed projects this weekend.  All of the stamps are by Lavinia Stamps, including the background text, and stamped with VersaFine Clair inks.  The "boat" is colored with Stampin' Blends.  The background scene is also from Stampin' Up! -  6x6 New Horizons DSP.     I'll post another one or two tomorrow or Monday. SOMETHING DIFFERENT WITH WAVES OF INSPIRATION BUNDLE

Image
Hello, Stampers!     I came across this template with the Waves of Inspiration on Pinterest, by SU! Demo Denita Wright (Australia).  Do you notice anything about the DSP strip?  Here's a close-up.

SEA SHELLS WITH SUNNY STENCIL MASHUP

Image
Hello, again, Stampers!     Still playing with my stencils stash.  The stencil is called Sphere (Altenew).  I applied the color with blending brushes and sponges.  At the bottom is Crumb Cake, then Coastal Cabana as dark as I could get it, then I lightened up a little.  After that is Daffodil Delight and ultimately, Mango Melody.

SCENIC TRIANGLES

Image
Hello, Stampers!     Let me start with credit to Kim Singdahlsen ( joyfulcreationswithkim ) for her card created based on a Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  So clever to imagine a mountain and lake scene composed of triangles.     My lake and mountain triangles are cut from Shimmery White CS (of course) and blended with Balmy Blue, Blackberry Bliss and Gorgeous Grape, respectively.   The trees are Shaded Spruce and Evening Evergreen, as is the mat layer.  My "canvas" is just Basic White run through the Subtle 3D embossing folder once.

TURN YOUR EMBOSSING FOLDER INTO A WATERCOLOR PALETTE - A SHAMELESS CASE

Image
Hello, Stampers!     Isn't this undersea watercolor gorgeous?  I did create the cards shown here, but full credit must be given to Nadine at https://NadineKreativ.de.  Nadine is a talented Stampin' Up! demo in Germany. You can find her on Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube.  I've shown a very similar version below - the only difference being that I spritzed it with Lindy's Magicals powder (mixed with water) in Hydrangea Blue.     Keep reading for the instructions and supplies - fewer than you might think!

FRIENDS ARE LIKE SEASHELLS ON STENCILED GEL PRESS BACKGROUND

Image
HOST CODE:  DSZY4PY G Hey, Stampers -      I used a gel press, acrylic paints and stencil for this undersea-like background.  It works beautifully with SU's Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle, which will still be available in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.

ART GALLERY ON STENCIL PASTE X 2

Image
HOST CODE:  DSZY4PYG Hello, Stampers!     I do love the Art Gallery Bundle - it is SO easy to work with.  I created the raggedy background for these cards with SU embossing paste and a stencil by Sugar Pea Designs on Seaside Spray card stock.  Any of our SU background stencils would look great, too - I just wanted some texture. The large "hugs" on the bottom card is by Honey Bee Stamps.

THESE STITCHED TRIANGLES GLIMMER . . .

Image
Host Code:  DSZY4PYG Hi, Stampers!     As some of you know, I love abstract backgrounds (and sparkle) and have been playing with abstract backgrounds using a gel press. But then, I came across this post on Pinterest by "stampitupwithjaimie" and HAD to order the die set: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/574701602456476911/   FYI, Jaimie used one of the plain, ombre sides of the Artistry Blooms DSP for her card.  Her card base is Rich Razzleberry.

HEY CHICK and HEY BIRTHDAY CHICK - Such fun bundles to play with!

Image
Hello, Stampers!     It's been a while.  I just love the Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick Bundles.  They're so easy to use separately or to combine elements from each.  Below are are a few details and the supplies for this card.     All of my die cuts were stamped onto Shimmery White CS, my favorite for focal points.  I love the subtle sparkle and it works so well with Blends and Markers.     The DSP I used are Paper Blooms and Oh So Ombre.  The Ombre piece is 2-3/4 x 4. SIMPLY SUCCULENTS on ROCOCO ROSE

Image
Hello, again, Stampers!     This pot of succulents is mounted with Dimensionals on a piece of Oh So Ohmbre DSP in Rococo Rose.  There are print sides and plain sides of this FREE Sale-a-Bration 6x6 DSP.  Rococo Rose is one of my favorite colors.       I used pretty much the same Blends and marker colors on this card as I used on the card I posted on February 1, just tweeking them a little.  I die-cut the pretty coordinating openwork background from Whisper White/Basic THICK card stock for stablity.  The only place I used adhesive was around the outside edge.

STAMPIN' UP! ART GALLERY Bundle on EASY, DISTRESS INK/GEL PRESS BACKGROUND

Image
Hi, Stampers -     Just a quick post with the Art Gallery Bundle.  The background layer is just simply distress ink, brayered on a Gel Press, then splashed with a little water and Prussian Blue Brusho (very little Brusho), using a fan brush, and then lifting a print.  I die-cut the layer with the largest of the Stitched Rectangles dies.  Flowers and leaves were stamped onto Shimmery White CS.  SU! supplies are below. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

ART GALLERY - 2021 Pantone Colors

Image
Hello, Stampers!     Today's card utilizes what are allegedly the top Pantone colors for 2021 - yellow and gray - which I am very fond of, actually.      I stamped the background on this card with Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight, using an Altenew stamp set called Halftone Circles.  The Art Gallery flowers are Daffodil Delight, with the 2nd step in So saffron and Wink of Stella added over the 2nd step areas only.  I used a Basic Gray marker for the stems and leaf (I think I should have stuck with Smoky Slate).  I would suggest using Shimmery White for your flowers.  I didn't, and I'm a little disappointed.   The circle is cut with the largest of the Stitched Shapes dies.  The sentiment and scalloped sentiment die are part of the Art Gallery Bundle.  I added a few Basic Pearls and a Basic Gray mat. SENDING [YOU] SUNSHINE with STAMPIN' UP!

Image
Hello, Stampers!     It's a cold and dreary October day here in Indiana, so I thought I'd share a little sunshine.  This is one of the cards from my October Stamp Camp. This set makes "painting" a lovely water scene pretty darned easy.     The water is stamped with Balmy Blue, stamped off first, and not stamped off for the deeper section onto a precut piece of Shimmery White card stock.  The sentiment and the little darker "island" image are Balmy Blue.  The sun was stamped with Mango Melody and the leaves with Granny Apple Green. We used a circle punch to make a stencil and add the extra light around the sun with a sponge dauber.  Wink of Stella was brushed over the water.     T he DSP is from the Artistry Blooms pack.  Use any ribbon you like and add some enamel dots or sequins of your choice and you're done.  Products links are below.  Happy Stampin’! WAY TO GOAT by STAMPIN' UP! - TWO FOR ONE!

Image
Hey, Stampers -     Here are two more cards from my October Stamp Camp.  You get two cards with one run through your Big Shot or Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine!  Special thanks to The Stamp Doc (Melissa Stout) for her YouTube video tutorial, from which I learned how to use the Playful Alphabet Dies to make these fun cards, with my own take, of course - like "U 've goat mail" instead of "You goat mail."  Also, we used Rainbow Glimmer Paper instead of DSP.  Here is the link to the video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCv9tT_VAUM&t=3s   Be sure to give Melissa's video a 👍.  The goats are popped up on little wobblies springs.      There are several steps involved and it can  be a bit tedious, but everyone was successful in completing their cards.  I created a template for the letters once I had them lined up the way I wanted - just ran them through the Big Shot with scrap card stock.  You will understand more after watching the video.

For the Love of Plaid - Gather Together with Plaid Tidings* and Love of Leaves

Hello, again, Stampers! I do love plaids!  Especially for Fall and Christmas cards.  We created this at September Stamp Camp and I've added another version below, using the Love of Leaves Bundle.  I will provide supplies for both, below.. *This DSP will be 15% off October 1-31. STAMPIN' UP! POSITIVE THOUGHTS in PINK & GRAY

Image
Hello, Stampers! Positive Thoughts is a new-to-me set that was carried over into the 2020 Annual Catalog.  There are coordinating dies, Nature's Thoughts, but they were not carried over as a bundle.  Yes, the fancy "stitched" rectangle is included in the dies!  I used Shimmery White CS for that piece and the die cut flower.

Hi, Stampers! Here are two more easy samples for you using the $12 Covid-19 .pdf that you can order here.   https://covid19.stampinup.com/ The two Quarantini cards are quick and easy to make.  The slightly different template was inspired by Jackie Bolhuis' card at Klompen Stampers.  Once again, I used retired DSP scraps, so I will not list that here.  The only stamp I used is "It's your day!," from the Under My Umbrella set, which fit perfectly over the top of the "Have another Quaran-tini" sentiment from the download.  Find measurements and supplies below. Hello, Stampers! Aren't these face masks adorable?  Well I could have picked a prettier pattern for the second one, but I get so stingy with my time that if I'm experimenting and it turns out, it's going on a card!  LOL  I imagine you've seen them different places on the Net, but here is a link to the video that taught me - they really are pretty easy.  Lisa Fleming,  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBzo_zxdOnk&list=LL5V72yr7nEvrjYqurV6TT_Q&index=25&t=100s I do have a couple of photos and measurements for you, some suggestions and hints, so be sure to click "Read in browser" or "Read below" for those.
