SALE-A-BRATION - ANOTHER COUNTRY FLORAL DYNAMIC TIEF SAMPLE

Image
Hello, Stampers!       Looks like March will be coming in like a lion in Indiana, so it's time for something to cheer us up!       Do you ever wonder how we made cards without the Big Shot?  I love the SAB, Phase 2 Country Floral Dynamic TIEF, don't you?  I posted a quick, monochromatic card on Feb 22, which you can see HERE .       I used Shimmery White CS for the embossed area, inked the TIEF with Soft Sea Foam, and colored the flowers and leaves with Stampin' Blends.  The mat and base are Pear Pizzaz and Petal Pink, the ribbon is Pear Pizzaz Shimmer.  Supplies are on my blog. HAND DELIVERED FOR ST. PATTY'S DAY and I FINALLY LEARNED HOW TO PRINT CUSTOM SENTIMENTS INSIDE A CARD!

Image
Card 1 Hello, Stampers!      I don't know about where you are, but here in Indiana, we have high winds - in fact, our mailbox post snapped!  It was getting loose and most likely the in-ground part was pretty rotten.  But still - yikes!      Anyway, I just wanted to make one or two St. Patrick's Day cards - as you have probably figured out, DH is Irish.  I don't have any Patty's Day sets, so I settled on the Stampin' Up! host set, Hand Delivered (p.229).  Also, I no longer have any Patty's Day sentiment stamps except my 15-year-old Teeny Tiny Wishes set, so what do I add on the inside?      I grabbed a big mug of tea and set to work.  I use MS Word so I looked online starting with that, and what I saw involved text boxes and paper sizes, etc., and my printer is pretty old, so I have to use standard sizes.  Me thought to meself, there must be an easier way.  After quite a bit of trial and error, I have three documents saved all set up, just using differ

STAMPIN' UP! ® COUNTRY FLORAL DYNAMIC TI EMBOSSING FOLDER - HAVE YOU SEEN.....?

Image
Hi,Stampers!      Look at the relief and texture on this card!  I have seen lots of ideas for this Dynamic TIEF that is FREE with a $50 purchase.  You can see it on the inside of the SAB brochure for Phase 2 (2/15 - 3/31 - on my sidebar), along with some lovely samples, and more online, including some great videos.  I will share a couple of my samples here.      Does it look like I colored the flowers on this piece with WW Craft Ink?  Uh uh.  I inked the background of the TIEF!  It was super easy.  I think I could have used a lighter, brighter yellow, like Daffodil Delight, but I used So Saffron, the color of the card stock.  You can use any color you choose, but for this recipe, I'll stick with So Saffron.  Let's get started! Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Instructions Card base is Smoky Slate, 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4; two pieces of So Saffron (or, really, any lighter color you choose - Grapefruit, Blushing Bride, Pool Party, Bal

Stampin' Up!® LASTING LILY SYMPATHY CARD

Image
Hello, Stampers -      The majority of the sentiments in the Lasting Lily Stamp Set (FREE with $100 order) are for sympathy cards.  In yesterday's post, I shared an Easter card.  I came across the embossed lily idea online and since it seemed to show best on black, I figured this one should definitely be a sympathy card, much as we hate to have to send them.  Let's get started!        You can find a product list on my blog . Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Instructions Card base is WW Thick CS; the Daffodil Delight layer is 4 x 5-1/4 and the black started out as 5 x 3-3/4.  Scraps of Shimmery White and Daffodil for the sentiment. Lightly dust the black cs with the Embossing Buddy, then stamp Lily, stem and leaf with Versamark ink; cover with White EP and heat emboss. Cut a curved edge on the black cs by hand or use the curved edge die from the In the Woods Framelits Dies, placing die at roughly 1" from right edge of black at top and bottom. Highlight

STAMPIN' UP!® SALE-A-BRATION CAS - LASTING LILY FOR EASTER

Hello, Stampers!      I really like the sample card in the Sale-a-Bration Brochure on p.18, so I decided to see if I could duplicate the look.  It was pretty easy, really, especially with the Lily Framelits Dies that will be available to purchase March 1-31 during the SAB Coordination Promotion.  You can find more info about that promo in my February 5 post, here .  Let's get started.  Full Instructions are on my blog. STAMPIN' UP!® BOTANICAL BUTTERFLY GALA and GRAPEFRUIT GROVE FOIL - February 2019 STAMP CAMP

Image
Hello, Stampers!     I've got three versions of this card to share today, using different embossing folders and a variation of butterflies.  The front and center above is my favorite because I like this embossed background the best - it is the new Dot to Dot TIEF in the Occasions Catalog, p.25.  Below are the other two.  I imagine a background with the new Flower Garden Dynamic TIEF (SAB 2) would be gorgeous, as well. Basket Weave TIEF      Swirls & Curls TIEF      DO YOU NOTICE ANYTHING ELSE different about one of these samples?  The butterflies on the card with the Basket Weave background were not stamped, they were punched out of the Botanical Butterfly FREE DSP!  Can it get any easier?  Instructions are below (on my blog). HiYa, Stampers!      Sorry I haven't finished posting my February Stamp Camp projects yet, but I've spent the last two full days working on our super-easy, short forms, taxes!  Just let me say, NOT!  It's taken me twice as long as in the past - so not sure what's supposed to be better about the new forms, etc.  BUT, I digress...      Just wanted to remind you that SAB Part 2 starts Friday.  You can find the brochure on my blog by just clicking above and you can shop from there, as well.  Have fun! EMPATHY CARD FOR A FRIEND - I THINK STAMPIN' UP! SHOULD HIRE ME - NEEDLEPOINT NOOK DSP

Image
Hiya, Stampers!      I have a friend who is going through some aggravating times right now, so I hope she gets a chuckle out of this card.  (I hope she doesn't read my blog, because I haven't mailed it yet - I'm pretty sure she doesn't - she's not a crafter or stamper.)      I couldn't resist these puns, I think that's what they are, anyway.  I created the sentiments in Word.  The inside sentiment says, "Sew sorry times are tough right now."  ;-)  They made me smile.  Details on my Blog. SPECIAL VALENTINES - CAN YOU HAVE TOO MUCH LACE? STAMPIN' UP! ® LACE DYNAMIC TIEF

Image
GINGHAM AND LACE Hi, Stampers!       Can you tell these photos are both the same card, just with different lighting?  I do love the FREE Grapefruit Grove iridescent foil in the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  I snapped the photo on the left near a window in natural light (it's overcast today) and couldn't seem to get the proper angle to show off the gorgeous highlights in this foil.  I had the card sitting on my desk getting ready to post some details and thought I'd see how it looked under my halogen desk lamp.  Wow!  So, I had to include both pics for you.      This is a really simple card, although certainly fussy-looking.  The mat layer is Smoky Slate because SS is the only gingham ribbon I have and I wanted to use it for a little contrast with all that lace.  The top layer is just WW embossed with the Dynamic Lace TIEF, as is the larger die-cut heart.  You could also emboss the smaller heart.  I decided to use "thankful for you" rather than the typic
