ONE BACKGROND DIE, TWO OHMBRE CARDS - Simply Potted Succulents

Image
Hello, Stampers!     I'm still here.  Just doing some other forms of papercrafting, gel press, acrylic paints, etc.  This idea is certainly nothing new and not original to me (as usual).  It's really easy peasy to create this 2 4 1 background with the background die from the Potted Succulents Dies set.     First, die cut the background using Basic White or Shimmery White CS - you can use a bit larger piece and cut it down later.  Then, adhere your die-cut to another piece of Basic White or Shimmery CS with some Washi tape along a couple of edges.  Then the fun begins.     Ink up one of your blending brushes with Pool Party Ink and brush in swirls at the bottom third (or top, doesn't really matter) of your die-cut, which is now a stencil!  Feel free to peek to be sure you have enough color laid down.  At the middle, ink up your brush with Bermuda Bay ink and add that color, overlapping to blend in with the Pool Party.  Last, ink up your brush with Pacific Point, app

SCENIC TRIANGLES

Hello, Stampers!     Let me start with credit to Kim Singdahlsen ( joyfulcreationswithkim ) for her card created based on a Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  So clever to imagine a mountain and lake scene composed of triangles.     My lake and mountain triangles are cut from Shimmery White CS (of course) and blended with Balmy Blue, Blackberry Bliss and Gorgeous Grape, respectively.   The trees are Shaded Spruce and Evening Evergreen, as is the mat layer.  My "canvas" is just Basic White run through the Subtle 3D embossing folder once.

TURN YOUR EMBOSSING FOLDER INTO A WATERCOLOR PALETTE - A SHAMELESS CASE

Image
Hello, Stampers!     Isn't this undersea watercolor gorgeous?  I did create the cards shown here, but full credit must be given to Nadine at https://NadineKreativ.de.  Nadine is a talented Stampin' Up! demo in Germany. You can find her on Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube.  I've shown a very similar version below - the only difference being that I spritzed it with Lindy's Magicals powder (mixed with water) in Hydrangea Blue.     Keep reading for the instructions and supplies - fewer than you might think!

FRIENDS ARE LIKE SEASHELLS ON STENCILED GEL PRESS BACKGROUND

Image
HOST CODE:  DSZY4PY G Hey, Stampers -      I used a gel press, acrylic paints and stencil for this undersea-like background.  It works beautifully with SU's Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle, which will still be available in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.

HEY CHICK and HEY BIRTHDAY CHICK - Such fun bundles to play with!

Image
Hello, Stampers!     It's been a while.  I just love the Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick Bundles.  They're so easy to use separately or to combine elements from each.  Below are are a few details and the supplies for this card.     All of my die cuts were stamped onto Shimmery White CS, my favorite for focal points.  I love the subtle sparkle and it works so well with Blends and Markers.     The DSP I used are Paper Blooms and Oh So Ombre.  The Ombre piece is 2-3/4 x 4. RHODE ISLAND RED HEY BIRTHDAY CHICK

Image
HOST CODE:  2J4TB4B6 Hi, Stampers!     Here's another Hey Birthday/Hey, Chick Bundles combo card for you.  The idea for the stacked feed sacks is from Debbie Henderson, Debbiesdesigns blog.       I love this Rhode Island Red ready to celebrate your birthday.  She is colored with Light and Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends and a little Wink of Stella on her wings, tail, etc.  I sponged a little Granny Apple Green at the bottom of my 3x4 piece of Oh So Ombre DSP ( FREE with a $50 order during SAB - which, BTW, ends in just a couple of days ).  I used Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand CS for the sacks.     Click below for more colors and supplies. HEY, BIRTHDAY CHICK - HELP ME DOWN! - SALE-A-BRATION ENDS 2/28!

Image
Hello, Stampers!     This tubby little hen is yelling for help!  One balloon would have been enough and now she's out of control.  ;-)       I've used elements from both Chick Bundles for this birthday notecard, as you will see below when you see the inside!  I had fun playing with the different dies.  All of my stamped images are on Shimmery White CS.  You'll have to click below and go to my blog to see more, colors, etc.   Happy Stampin’! BUMBLEBEE AND TERRACOTTA SU FINE ART FLORAL

Image
HOST CODE    2J4TB4B6 Hello, Stampers!     Remember, Sale-a-Bration ends this month!   Can you tell I love this Art Gallery Bundle?  And I wasn't going to order anymore flowers. Ha!  It's just so easy to use with any colors you like from subtle to bold.     I picked the colors above, Bumblebee and Terracotta Tile, because I saw them on the cover of a lovely photobook posted on her blog by Jan Clothier, a demo in New Zealand.  Jan chose Night of Navy for her base, etc.  I used Misty Moonlight.  The flowers and leaves are stamped on Shimmery White cardstock.  The leaves are Mossy Meadow.     I created a textured background for my card using the Potted Succulents Dies and Thick cardstock, but in my opinion, you could get the same effect with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.  Supplies are below. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

STAMPIN' UP! ART GALLERY Bundle on EASY, DISTRESS INK/GEL PRESS BACKGROUND

Image
Hi, Stampers -     Just a quick post with the Art Gallery Bundle.  The background layer is just simply distress ink, brayered on a Gel Press, then splashed with a little water and Prussian Blue Brusho (very little Brusho), using a fan brush, and then lifting a print.  I die-cut the layer with the largest of the Stitched Rectangles dies.  Flowers and leaves were stamped onto Shimmery White CS.  SU! supplies are below. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

HELLO, PUNKIN!! SU! GATHER TOGETHER MISH MASH and MORE PLAID!

Image
Happy Fall, Stampers!      I just love pumpkins for Fall, so played again with the Gather Together pumpkins and a couple of elements from another set and some retired dies.       The base and card front are Mango Melody with a layer of Plaid Tidings.  The fence was die cut from the same plaid using the retired Farmhouse Framelits dies.  The bare tree is from Snow Front, stamped in Early Espresso, as is the sentiment.  The little leaves are die cut with tiny non-SU! dies I've had for some time - I think they were a gift.  Of course, if you have the new Autumn Punch Pack, even better!  I used white CS on the inside and just stamped and colored the two-pumpkin image at the bottom.

Quadrangle Cards with Altered Plaid Tidings, Daisy Lane and Love of Leaves - CASE COMBO

Image
Hey, Stampers! These two September stamp camp cards are a combination of two ideas from the blogs of Connie Babbert (Inkspired Treasures) and LeeAnn Greff (Flowerbug's Inkspot).   The Plaid Tidings* pieces shown here did not originally contain the blue line. Connie shared that she simply took a ruler and the Light Night of Navy Stampin' Blends and drew her own accent color!  I would never have thought of that. The angled DSP was shared by LeeAnn and is a great way to decorate 4 cards with one sheet of 6x6 DSP.  She shared a video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7x0WfVafXZ8&t=537s    For the mat layer, I cut a piece of colored CS 6-1/4 x 6-1/4 and marked each edge at 1-5/8 instead of what LeeAnn tried, although you will still have to do a little trimming on on or two sides. This will mean more to you once you check out LeeAnn's video. The leaves on the daisy card were cut with the Poppy Moments Dies. Supplies, colors, etc. are below. *15% off DSP Sale Octob

JULY 2020 STAMP CAMP - STRAIGHT UP FUN!

Image
Hi, Stampers!     The Whiskey Business set is fun to play with and has such fun sentiments.  My photo, unfortunately, doesn't show the Cinnamon Cider background as rich as this color really is.  Here are the details.     The card base is Very Vanilla Thick CS, with a Cinnamon Cider 5-1/4 x 4 layer embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder.  The brick-look overlay is a 3 x 3-3/4 piece from the In Good Taste DSP. The decanter is stamped on a 3" Shimmery White die-cut circle and the glass was fussy-cut.  The whiskey was colored with a combination of Stampin' Blends and marker, and the top was colored with Copper Delicata inkusing a Blender Pen.  The sentiment is stamped on a 3/4" scrap of the DSP and the ends punched with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.

JULY 2020 STAMP CAMP - COMFORT & HOPE WATERCOLOR WASH

Image
Hi, Stampers!     Comfort & Hope is one of the sets new to the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  The focal point is Watercolor Cardstock 3 x 3-3/4, mounted on Dimensionals, washed with Flirty Flamingo using Aqua Painter/Water Pen and the edges sponged.  The stamped circles are stamped with Gold Glitz Delicata ink and the woven-look background is stamped in Crumb Cake.  The leaves (fussy-cut) and sentiment are stamped in one of the new In Colors, Misty Moonlight.     The card base is Very Vanilla Thick CS and is embossed with the retired Coastal Weave embossing folder part of the way up and accented by a 1/4" strip of Gold Foil.     The accents are Gold Glitter Enamel Dots and a Gold Hoop.          Happy Stampin’! JULY 2020 STAMP CAMP - DAISY LANE AWASH IN PRETTY PEACOCK AND ROCOCO ROSE

Image
Hello, Stampers! These were the options for one of my July stamp camp projects.  Pretty simple.  All of the white areas are Shimmery White CS.  The color wash background is 4-1/4 x 3-1/2, the sentiment "tag" is 1" and the Champagne accent strip is 1/4."  We used Copper Trim on the Pretty Peacock version.  All stamping and the wash are in Pretty Peacock and Rococo Rose, are the card bases.  The daisies are each one full strength layer and one layer stamped off.  A good card to have in your stash for any occasion.  Products are below. SAILING HOME TO GRADUATION!

Image
Hi, Stampers! Well, here it is, almost June.  I would have thought that during full SAH that the time would just drag, but at least for me, it has flown by!  I hope it's been like that for you, as well. Since many graduation gatherings have been delayed, I decided it wasn't too late to post for you a graduation card you can make with a bundle and DSP you likely already have.  Inside, this card says, "Set sail in the direction of your dreams."  I think this is a perfect sentiment for someone starting a new stage in their life, either after HS or college.  I also added the sea birds and a sailboat inside.     Hi, Stampers! Here are two more easy samples for you using the $12 Covid-19 .pdf that you can order here.   https://covid19.stampinup.com/ The two Quarantini cards are quick and easy to make.  The slightly different template was inspired by Jackie Bolhuis' card at Klompen Stampers.  Once again, I used retired DSP scraps, so I will not list that here.  The only stamp I used is "It's your day!," from the Under My Umbrella set, which fit perfectly over the top of the "Have another Quaran-tini" sentiment from the download.  Find measurements and supplies below. Hello, Stampers! Aren't these face masks adorable?  Well I could have picked a prettier pattern for the second one, but I get so stingy with my time that if I'm experimenting and it turns out, it's going on a card!  LOL  I imagine you've seen them different places on the Net, but here is a link to the video that taught me - they really are pretty easy.  Lisa Fleming,  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBzo_zxdOnk&list=LL5V72yr7nEvrjYqurV6TT_Q&index=25&t=100s I do have a couple of photos and measurements for you, some suggestions and hints, so be sure to click "Read in browser" or "Read below" for those. EMBOSSED AND WATERCOLORED - LOVELY MAGNOLIAS

Image
Hello, Stampers! I'm so glad the Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder is not retiring.  I embossed watercolor card stock with the embossing folder and then just colored it with ink pads and here and there with Stampin' Blends.  It's hard to tell here, but the turned up edges of the magnolias are colored Soft Sea Foam and I added Clear Wink of Stella to the flower centers.  The DSP is Magnolia Lane. I did run into one problem.  Watercolor card stock has a mind of it's own and/or I embossed it too deeply - I ran it through the Big Shot several times.  I had some problems with warping, so if I try it again, I may try going light on the water and using Shimmery White CS instead.  The background is a combination of Blushing Bride and Petal Pink.  The leaves were die-cut with the Magnolia Memories Dies.  The sentiment is embossed on Mossy Meadow and is from a very old set I go to often, Warmest Regards.  More colors and supplies are below. MANGO POPPIES THANK YOU NOTE with LABEL ME BOLD (again)

Image
Hello, Stampers! I'm glad Painted Poppies has carried over to the 2020-21 Annual Catalog ( and , it has been carried over as a 10% off Bundle with the Painted Labels dies).  Although I love the poppies DSP and have used it tons, I wanted to use something other than our usual reds, purples or pink, which seem a natural for this set.  Since I'm a big fan of Mango Melody, that'swthat I used . I wanted to keep this to no layers, so I stamped the flower with the "fill-in" stamp in the set with Mango Melody and added a little bit darker accents with the marker as opposed to Blends, which show through on the reverse.  The Label Me Bold "thank you" is stamped in Old Olive and popped up with Mini Dimensionals.   Not sure if you can see here, but I laid the note card face down on my Simply Scored and scored two lines, about 5/8" apart, across the front for just a little something extra. SU! 2020-22 IN COLORS!

Image
Hi, Stampers!      Just wanted to give you a sneak peek.  These are the 2020-22 Stampin' Up! In Colors!  Which do you think might be your favorite?  I love the Cinnamon Cider, because it reminds me of the old Creamy Caramel - who remembers that?  How long ago was that?  Looks good enough to eat.  I like them all, but the softness of Bumble Bee, if these are true color projections.  It's hard to be spot on when dealing with different mediums.      There you have it.  I'll post another little note card with the retiring Label Me Bold set in a little while.
