A DIFFERENT SORT OF GRADUATION CARD - LEFTOVER SU! BOTANICAL BUTTERFLY DSP (SALE-A-BRATION) and SOME FAVORITE RETIRED STUFF

Image
Hello, Stampers!      I've had this idea in my head for some time and decided it would make a good congrats or graduation card - a little something different.  Here's the inside - the text is just printed on a label in Word.  Details are on my blog - just click "Read in browser >>," below. SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW - PLAYING WITH SOMETHING NOT SU!

Image
Ahoy, Stampers!      Some time ago, I saw an image similar to this on Sarah G.'s blog at Funky Fossil Design's (UK).  I thought the design was so unique I just had to try something similar with SU! stamps.  FFD, a UK shop, designs and sells mostly stencils.      I used stamps from three separate SU! sets, one of which is retired:  Wherever You Go (retired), High Tide and Sailing Home, in the new Annual Catalog.  The sailboat and birds in the water drop on both cards, if you want to call it that, is from Sailing Home, the compass, GO sentiment and single bird on the blue card are from Wherever You Go.  On the aqua card, the sentiment is from Sailing Home and the birds at the bottom are from High Tide.      I used Distress Inks with two stencils: Lightbulb Aperture over Messy Rainbows .       For a Stitched Rectangles Dies Tip, stamp sets and other SU! supplies, click "Read in browser." WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE.... STAMPIN' UP! SAILING HOME, A LITTLE BRUSHO "ART PIECE"

Image
Hi, Stampers!     Playing around again with this easy brushing Brusho technique (see my May 4 post) .  This time I added some extra water droplets from my Aqua Painter for a little more interest.  Don't be afraid to experiment - try it, you'll love it! Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Details      The base is a vertical A2 card of Whisper White Thick CS, and the mat layer is also WW Thick, cut with the largest of the Stitched Rectangle dies. My "art piece" is 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 Watercolor Paper.      I sprinkled Prussian Blue and Yellow Brusho onto the Watercolor Paper and spritzed with water and brushed it with my Aqua Painter, blending the colors a little in the middle.  I then added droplets of water from my Aqua Painter here and there, dabbed off a little excess with a napkin, and let dry.      The sailboat and birds are stamped in Night of Navy, using my Stamparatus, in case I had to re-stamp.  When I made sure the stamped images w

CREATE ONE, GET ONE! DOUBLE DUTY DELIGHTFULLY DETAILED SPECIALTY DSP - May Stamp Camp

Hi, Stampers!       More from my May DSP-focused Stamp Camp.  We turned our Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty DSP into a stencil!  The key to not tearing this delicate open-work design is to pounce the color on with your sponge, don't swirl or go back and forth, like we usually do.  There are two advantages to this technique of sponging:  this background looks like it was spritzed and the other, I'll show you later, so be sure to "Read more..." Happy Stampin’! Hi, Stampers!      WE made this card as one of our projects at my May 11 Stamp Camp.  I posted the details earlier, so just go back to my post dated March 28 for more info! Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

ANOTHER FUN, QUICK AND EASY DSP CARD! MAY STAMP CAMP

Image
NEW HOST CODE:   YNBSWNMK Hello, Stampers!     I got the idea for this card from Kelly Acheson (A Stamp Above).  Pull out those punches, circle dies and DSP scraps again for this fun card!  Two of the circles here are cut or punched from the How Sweet It Is DSP (I love the bright and cheerful colors) and I don't even remember where we pulled the others from.  The only changes we made to Kelly's card (other than DSP) is that we added a little Wink of Stella on the candle and a couple of white enamel dots (retired), which we colored with Stampin' Blends.  Any bling will do.  More details and products used below. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Details:       The card base is Bermuda Bay (campers had their choice of BB or Melon Mambo), the Basic Black Mat is 5-1/4 x 4 and the WW layer is 5-1/8 x 3-7/8.      The Punches we used are 2-1/2", 1-3/4", 1-1/2" and 1-1/4."  Any circle shapes of comparable sizes will work.

PETAL PROMENADE QUICK AND EASY - May Stamp Camp

Image
Hello, Stampers!      I hope all of you stamper Moms had a lovely Mother's Day, despite the weather (if you are in Indiana.)  ;-(  At Saturday's stamp camp we used retiring Designer Series Papers in various ways on all of your projects!  Good news?  The Pearlized Doilies will be carried over!  I just love them.      TIP:  Use a color that coordinates with your DSP for your mat and behind the sentiment - coordinating colors are listed on the back of your DSP pack.      This first card, using the beautiful Petal Promenade DSP is very Q&E.  It also makes a lovely sympathy, get well, Mother's Day, wedding or anniversary card.  So, if you have some favorite DSP that is retiring, use it and you'll end up with plenty of last-minute cards if you leave the sentiment blank until you need it.  The front and inside sentiments on this card are from the Perennial Birthday set.  Here are the simple measurements and supplies for the above card. . BRUSHING WITH BRUSHO!© - A QUICK AND EASY WASH TECHNIQUE

Image
Hi, Stampers!      Another rainy day in the Indianapolis area - I feel sorry for the Mini-Marathon Runners and the Kentucky Derby fans and "runners," too, just south of us in Louisville.  Good day for stampin'!  I've just finished up the samples for next Saturday's Stamp Camp.      This card was inspired by a tutorial at FrenchieStamps and it really is quick.  Details below. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Shake some Brusho Crystal Colour* - remember you don't need much - onto a piece of Watercolor Card Stock, cut to 3 x 3-3/4. Use 2-3 colors, at most.  I used Prussian Blue and Yellow.  Spritz with a fair amount of water and with your Aqua Painter or a wet brush spread the color across the paper!  Let it dry - that's it!  If you want to dry with a heat gun, the color will lighten a little. When your color-washed piece is completely dry, pat with your Embossing Buddy and stamp desired image from Dandelion Wishes in Versama
