HEY, BIRTHDAY CHICK - HELP ME DOWN! - SALE-A-BRATION ENDS 2/28!

Image
Hello, Stampers!     This tubby little hen is yelling for help!  One balloon would have been enough and now she's out of control.  ;-)       I've used elements from both Chick Bundles for this birthday notecard, as you will see below when you see the inside!  I had fun playing with the different dies.  All of my stamped images are on Shimmery White CS.  You'll have to click below and go to my blog to see more, colors, etc.   Happy Stampin’! HELLO, PUNKIN!! SU! GATHER TOGETHER MISH MASH and MORE PLAID!

Image
Happy Fall, Stampers!      I just love pumpkins for Fall, so played again with the Gather Together pumpkins and a couple of elements from another set and some retired dies.       The base and card front are Mango Melody with a layer of Plaid Tidings.  The fence was die cut from the same plaid using the retired Farmhouse Framelits dies.  The bare tree is from Snow Front, stamped in Early Espresso, as is the sentiment.  The little leaves are die cut with tiny non-SU! dies I've had for some time - I think they were a gift.  Of course, if you have the new Autumn Punch Pack, even better!  I used white CS on the inside and just stamped and colored the two-pumpkin image at the bottom.

FREE AS A BIRD IN THE WOODS

Image
Hi, Stampers!        This is such a lovely stamp set - so many color options for the birds!   We used the Free as a Bird Bundle for this card.  The focal point is stamped on Shimmery White CS with Memento ink and colored with Blends.  It was die-cut with the second largest of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies that are part of this bundle.        The card base is Pool Party and the embossing folder is Woodland.  The “ribbon” is Braided Linen Trim, the other embellishments are Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins. We used the Woodland embossing folder for the raised mat layer.  Really pretty simple. You can find links to the supplies used - just click "Read in browser." Happy Stampin’! STAMPIN' UP!® BACK ON YOUR FEET

Image
Hello, Fellow Stampers!      Today we have a totally original idea by Sue!  LOL  Sadly, they are few and far between.  I was motivated to create this card by the fact a neighbor recently underwent back surgery and I doubted he would appreciate something flowery.  ;-)  So, let's get started. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Details Whisper White Thick vertical card base with a mat of So Saffron or Daffodil Delight - I actually made two of these - and 5 x 3-3/4 Whisper White for the top layer. I colored a dab of Embossing Paste (you don't need much) with a couple of drops of Cajun Craze Refill and added it using our brick-look mask.  I did not want it to be solid. I hand-cut a 4" piece of Granny Apple Green CS to make it a little uneven and then used our retired Fringe Scissors to make the grass. You can just use Paper Snips.  I added the piece I had trimmed off at the bottom and sponged some color on it, added it with Liquid Glue to the

STAMPIN' UP! HALF FULL - EASY BIRTHDAY OR HOST THANK YOU - April Stamp Camp

Image
Cheers, Stampers!      With a host gift of wine, or thank you to host, or birthday - this card is easy and perfect for any of those.  It also has two fun verses for a tongue-in-cheek Christmas card, which you can find on my Pinterest page.   https://www.pinterest.com/pin/574701602441339190/ Let's get started! Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Details Card base is a standard A2 vertical, top fold in (what else?) Merry Merlot CS.  Mat layer is 5-1/4 x 4 Pear Pizzazz.  The top layer is Shimmery White CS, 3-3/4 x 5 and the inside is 5-1/4 x 4 in Very Vanilla or WW. The wine bottle, "plaque" and "cheers" are all stamped in Merry Merlot.  The wine bottle is highlighted with Light Old Olive Blends and the label and bottle seal are coated with Clear Wink of Stella. The grapes are colored with Light Old Olive and Dark Soft Sea Foam Blends, or Pear Pizzazz and Soft Sea Foam Markers. The "Cheers!" sentiment is from a retire

STAMPIN' UP! SUBTLE LET IT RIDE (April Stamp Camp) #simplestamping

Image
Hi, Stampers!      We created this card at my April 13 stamp camp.  Surprisingly, it is comprised of only two neutral colors - Night of Navy and Smoky Slate.  With the exception of the three little candy dots, I think it qualifies for SIP, too - just Stamps, Ink and Paper.  So, let's get started! Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Details Basic A2 card sizes with a Whisper White Thick base, in this case with a top fold. Lightly ink the Crackle Paint background stamp in Smoky Slate, face up .  Lay the Whisper White top layer (3-3/4 x 5) on top of the inked stamp and press and smooth - pressing harder around the sides than in the middle area where you will stamp the horse.  Lightly sponge the edges with Smoky Slate. Stamp the trees once in Night of Navy in the upper left and once again without re-inking and slightly offset.  Stamp the "Go for it!" in Night of Navy in the upper right. Using Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends, l

STAMPIN' UP!S COUNTRY FLORAL DYNAMIC TIEF - THE ALL-OCCASION CARD FOR YOUR PERSONAL STASH

Image
Hello, Stampers!      I can't get enough of this Dynamic TIEF - Country Floral.  This TIEF will be carried over to the Annual Catalog.      I created this simple card (and others) to keep on hand - an appropriate sentiment to be die-cut or punched out and added later, as needed.  It's a little bright and cheery for a condolence card,* but it's just right for Easter, spring, birthday, anniversary, get well or "just checking in."  The details are below. *See my  February 28  post for a softer look that would be appropriate for a condolence card. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net    Details The Gingham Gala DSP covers the front of the card base, an A2 top fold in Whisper White Thick CS.  The Country Floral embossed piece is 1/4 sheet of Shimmery White CS, trimmed to 5 x 3-3/4 after embossing. After embossing, I used Stampin' Blends in the colors below to color the flowers and leaves and a few random larger dots here and there.

BIRTHDAYS ARE A "PIECE OF CAKE"! HOW SWEET IT IS

Image
Hiya, Stampers!     Today's card was created with the Piece of Cake Stamps/Punch Bundle and How Sweet It Is DSP (both are in the Occasions Catalog).  I love the bright colors in this paper pack.  In fact, I bought the DSP before I bought the Bundle!  I also really like the tongue-in-cheek sentiments.  The inside of my card says, "Who cares what the question is!"      Do you notice anything else about my card?  My cake stand is upside down!  LOL  Anyway, let's get started with measurement, etc. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Measurements      My card base is Coastal Cabana, a standard A2 Horizontal top-fold.  I embossed the front with the Polka Dot Basics TIEF.  The Gorgeous Grape CS piece is 4-1/4 x 2-3/4 and adhered to the base at an angle.  I think I should have made it a little bigger, like 4-1/2 x 3, so the embossing would show more.  I embossed it with the Dot to Dot TIEF (Occ. Catalog).  The DSP is 4 x 2-3/4.      The Grape c

STAMPIN' UP!® LET IT RIDE (IN THE BARN) - PLAYING AROUND, AGAIN

Image
Hello, Stampers!      Cloudy and gray yesterday; perfect for staying inside and playing with my stamps.  Let it Ride is a new set and I haven't used Barn Door in a while, soooo, what goes better with barns or stables than horses?       My barn wall is, of course, Wood Textures DSP - i couldn't get any easier than that.  The barn door (just cut in half) and mat are traditional Real Red, base is Very Vanilla.  I stamped the door in Early Espresso and also a few weeds or grains from Home to Roost at the bottom left. My chestnut Bay horse was stamped in Memento and colored with Dark Cajun Craze and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends.  The rope is just medium Baker's Twine.  Products are below.  Here's the inside. QUICK & EASY STAMPIN' UP! FABLE FRIENDS TREAT TAGS FOR EASTER

Image
Hello, Stampers!      It's never too early to start on making favors when you have to make about 20 of them!  And when the Easter candy hits the shelves, I get started. Out of necessity, I always try to come up with something quick and easy to share. These little bags hold a dozen Easter "eggs" (by M&M's) and are tied with whatever thick or medium SU! Baker's twine I had laying around, or a narrow ribbon works great, too.      I used pieces of Gingham Gala DSP for the tags (p.35, OC) cut 2 x 4-1/2 and punched with the Tag Topper Punch and I rounded the corners.  I stamped the bunny and goose in Memento on WW card stock and colored just a few areas with Blends - clothes, ears, bill, feet - and die-cut with a scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies.  Stamped the sentiment in color or Memento.  Oval is added with liquid glue, the sentiment with a glue dot or Dimensionals. Tie your bag shut, add and tie the tag and you're done!  I've o

SALE-A-BRATION - ANOTHER COUNTRY FLORAL DYNAMIC TIEF SAMPLE

Image
Hello, Stampers!       Looks like March will be coming in like a lion in Indiana, so it's time for something to cheer us up!       Do you ever wonder how we made cards without the Big Shot?  I love the SAB, Phase 2 Country Floral Dynamic TIEF, don't you?  I posted a quick, monochromatic card on Feb 22, which you can see HERE .       I used Shimmery White CS for the embossed area, inked the TIEF with Soft Sea Foam, and colored the flowers and leaves with Stampin' Blends.  The mat and base are Pear Pizzaz and Petal Pink, the ribbon is Pear Pizzaz Shimmer.  Supplies are on my blog. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

Stampin' Up!® LASTING LILY SYMPATHY CARD

Image
Hello, Stampers -      The majority of the sentiments in the Lasting Lily Stamp Set (FREE with $100 order) are for sympathy cards.  In yesterday's post, I shared an Easter card.  I came across the embossed lily idea online and since it seemed to show best on black, I figured this one should definitely be a sympathy card, much as we hate to have to send them.  Let's get started!        You can find a product list on my blog . Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Instructions Card base is WW Thick CS; the Daffodil Delight layer is 4 x 5-1/4 and the black started out as 5 x 3-3/4.  Scraps of Shimmery White and Daffodil for the sentiment. Lightly dust the black cs with the Embossing Buddy, then stamp Lily, stem and leaf with Versamark ink; cover with White EP and heat emboss. Cut a curved edge on the black cs by hand or use the curved edge die from the In the Woods Framelits Dies, placing die at roughly 1" from right edge of black at top and bottom. Highlight

IS A VALENTINE IN ANY OTHER COLOR JUST AS SWEET? STAMPIN' UP! ANIMAL OUTING BUNDLE (AGAIN)

Image
Hi, Stampers!      Can you tell I'm fond of the Animal Outing Bundle?  Of course, this doesn't have to be a Valentine, but I love the Grapefruit Grove 2018-20 In Color and also wanted to use some of the new Gingham Gala DSP from the Occasions Catalog.  Could be a thank you, anniversary, too.  Anyway, I just love this kind of haughty little giraffe from the Bundle and the heart Thinlits from Sunshine Wishes, which I die cut from the SAB FREE Grapefruit Grove (iridescent) Foil.  There's also Lovely Lipstick in the foil pack for those of you who want to stick to the more traditional Valentine colors.  And, there is a perfect "love" die in the Sunshine Wishes set.   The giraffe was stamped with Memento on Shimmery White and colored with Stampin' Blends.       The leaf on which I stamped the sentiment is a die from the Tropical Thinlits (part of the Tropical Chic Bundle).  And, of course, I couldn't use one of my animals without the Leaf Ribbon!  See my Jan

TWO VERSIONS OF STAMPIN' UP!'s HOME TO ROOST - FREE with $50 ORDER DURING SAB

Image
Version 1 Hello, Stampers!      I love this stamp set - not just because it's FREE during Sale-A-Bration, but because it's just different and it can be colored in so many ways!  The rooster was stamped in Memento and we used a combination of Stampin' Blends and Stampin' Write Markers at stamp camp, but since we used Shimmery White CS.  You can also watercolor this handsome fellow on Shimmery White or WC paper.  We used the retired Snowflake Doilies in gold as an accent because my customers already have them and they, to me, look like feathers!  We added Gold Faceted Gems as an additional accent.        The card base and Tin Tile embossed layer are Tranquil Tide - both the embossed layer and the oval are popped up with Dimensionals.  In Version 1, the oval is the largest of the ovals from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.   We masked the rooster in order to stamp the background wheat (?) in regular and stamped-off Crumb Cake.   You'll have to vis it my B

LILYPAD LAKE SAILBOATS ON A GRACEFUL GLASS "SEA"

Image
Hello, Stampers!      I must start by giving credit where it is due to Tracy Elsom (SU! Demo in Nova Scotia) for this wonderful idea for this vellum pattern.  As usual, I did change a couple of things - I changed the sentiment and added an additional sailboat.  Let's get started!
