FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES CHALLENGE 343

Image
Hi, Stampers! Remember how I mentioned that Challenges have been inspiring me to create something?  A nice, clean and simple sketch by FMS343 Designer Jen Timko inspired this card. I've been so busy with blog issues this week that I wasn't going to enter, but I felt the need to make something  not associated with my laptop . I just happened across a piece of SU! gold-accented acetate (sadly, retired), thought of the this week's Sketch and ta da! I don't think it requires any instructions, really.  Just a tip:  Hide Mini Glue Dots behind the gold dots on the acetate and a couple where the Whisper White piece will cover them.  The WW is "quilted" with the Tufted Dynamic TIEF and popped up with Dimensionals. ROOTED IN NATURE in BLACKBERRY BLISS PP399

Image
I've entered another Challenge with The Paper Players .  Here is the sketch:    I have found that I am stamping more when I enter a Challenge, which means I have more to share with you!  Let's get started. Measurements Whisper White Thick - 11 x 4-1/4, score at 5-1/2 Blackberry Bliss - 4-5/8 x 3-1/8 and 3-5/8 x 2 DSP - 4-1/2 x 3 Whisper White - 3-1/2 x 1-7/8, scrap at least 2-3/4 x 3 Basic Instructions Ink wood "slice"? stamp in Blackberry Bliss, stamp off twice  and onto WW scrap. Stamp "... wonderful" greeting in Versamark on top and emboss with silver embossing powder. Die cut embossed piece with third smallest oval Framelit (roughly 2-1/4 x 1-1/4). Ink tall tree stamp in Blackberry Bliss and stamp off once then onto WW 3-1/2 x 1-7/8 piece, centering horizontally (as shown).  Stamp tree again, without reinking for tree in background and again, without reinking,  for another background tree.  If you need to reink for last tre

EMBOSSING WITH THINLITS and REINKERS ON GLOSSY

Image
This card uses two techniques - reinkers on glossy card stock and embossing with Thinlits.  I've included a close-up so you can see the results of the embossing - double the use of your Thinlits!  I love the blues and green for the butterfly, but decided to add a pop of Melon Mambo - kind of retro, don't you think?   Let's get started.   Measurements Coastal Cabana - 11 x 4-1/4, score at 5-1/2 Melon Mambo - 5-1/4 x 4 Lemon Lime Twist - 5 x 3-3/4 Glossy - 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 - or scrap large enough to die-cut butterfly and small flower Shimmery White (or plain) for greeting - 5/8 x 4 Basic Instructions On a silicone oven mat or other surface that can take the water, add several drops of reinker to Glossy CS - no more than 3 colors to avoid muddiness, and two is fine.  I used Coastal Cabana, Pacific Point and Lemon Lime Twist. Spritz with water until colors spread out or run together.  Lightly dab off excess water with paper towel or Simply Shammy

Measurements Whisper White Thick - 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, score at 4-1/4 DSP - 3-3/4 x 3-1/2 Shimmery White - 3-3/4 x 2-5/8 Copper Foil - 5 x 1/4 Basic Instructions Ink tree stamp with Tranquil Tide and stamp off once .  Wipe Tranquil Tide ink off tree trunk and color with Soft Suede marker.  Huff on stamp and stamp centered on Shimmery White piece. Use Embossing Buddy on stamped Shimmery White and stamp image again with Versamark.  Heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder. Emboss WW Thick card front with Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF. Adhere layers as pictured with green glue; add copper foil strip with a couple of glue dots, and add copper leaf trinket with glue dot. SAILBOATS ON A BRUSHO LAKE

Image
I   stared and stared at the background on the original version of this card on Pinterest (Vicki-Joyful Crafts) before I took a stab at recreating it. To me, it was an optical illusion.  My first guess was totally off base - pretty much a disaster.  My second guess was correct.  Here is the recipe. Measurements Whisper White Thick - 4-1/4 x 11, score at 5-1/2 Pacific Point - 2 pieces - 4 x 5-1/4 Watercolor paper - 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 Shimmery White - enough to die cut as many sailboats as you want and label for greeting Basic Instructions Spritz Watercolor paper with water and sprinkle Brusho - mostly Prussian Blue with a little Yellow, until background is to your liking - spritz more water if you need to.  Let air dry or use low setting on heat tool . With wavy Thinlit from Lakeside dies, horizontally center on dry Watercolor paper and cut several times. Be sure to leave a small border to hold it together .  Use Precision Plate and run through Big Shot several times, even t
