STAMPIN' UP! QUEEN ANNE'S LACE IN PLAID

Image
Hi, Stampers!      The stamp set used here is Queen Anne’s Lace (p. 135 in the Annual Catalog).  Since it is in the AC, maybe you will get 10% off if you decide to order it on Tuesday.       The card base is Mango Melody.  The image was stamped in Versamark on Melon Mambo CS and embossed with White EP.  The rectangle was cut with one of the Stitched Rectangles dies.  The background is one of my favorite color combinations from the Plaid Tidings DSP Pack.  Perfect for brightening someone's day.  The embellishments are from the 2020-22 In Color Enamel Dots.  The ribbon is retired – White Flax – but any wide ribbon would work. FALLEN LEAVES - SU! LOVE OF LEAVES

Image
Hello, Stampers!     This card was to be one of my November Stamp Camp projects - the camp that never was.  The template/sketch is certainly too clever to be my idea - it was inspired by Jaydee of jaydeestamping.com - but, as usual, I did change it up a little.      The base and top layers are both Very Vanilla Thick CS.  You can see beneath the leaves a layer of Seaside Spray CS adhered to the front of the base.  I used the largest scalloped oval die from the Layering Ovals set to cut the oval and popped up that layer with scraps of  Foam Adhesive Sheets we used at last stamp camp, so it didn’t sag anywhere.

SENDING [YOU] SUNSHINE with STAMPIN' UP!

Image
Hello, Stampers!     It's a cold and dreary October day here in Indiana, so I thought I'd share a little sunshine.  This is one of the cards from my October Stamp Camp. This set makes "painting" a lovely water scene pretty darned easy.     The water is stamped with Balmy Blue, stamped off first, and not stamped off for the deeper section onto a precut piece of Shimmery White card stock.  The sentiment and the little darker "island" image are Balmy Blue.  The sun was stamped with Mango Melody and the leaves with Granny Apple Green. We used a circle punch to make a stencil and add the extra light around the sun with a sponge dauber.  Wink of Stella was brushed over the water.     T he DSP is from the Artistry Blooms pack.  Use any ribbon you like and add some enamel dots or sequins of your choice and you're done.  Products links are below.  Happy Stampin’! WAY TO GOAT by STAMPIN' UP! - TWO FOR ONE!

Image
Hey, Stampers -     Here are two more cards from my October Stamp Camp.  You get two cards with one run through your Big Shot or Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine!  Special thanks to The Stamp Doc (Melissa Stout) for her YouTube video tutorial, from which I learned how to use the Playful Alphabet Dies to make these fun cards, with my own take, of course - like "U 've goat mail" instead of "You goat mail."  Also, we used Rainbow Glimmer Paper instead of DSP.  Here is the link to the video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCv9tT_VAUM&t=3s   Be sure to give Melissa's video a 👍.  The goats are popped up on little wobblies springs.      There are several steps involved and it can  be a bit tedious, but everyone was successful in completing their cards.  I created a template for the letters once I had them lined up the way I wanted - just ran them through the Big Shot with scrap card stock.  You will understand more after watching the video.

NORTHERN LIGHTS WITH STAMPIN' UP! MOUNTAIN AIR

Image
Hello, Stampers!     This lovely northern lights card was one of my October Stamp Camp projects.  Really fun, if you like sponging.  ;-)  The moon was stamped with Versamark (don't forget to use an embossing buddy!) and embossed with white EP.  The colors are:  Mossy Meadow CS and ink, Night of Navy CS and ink (or Memento to stamp mountains on Navy), Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive, all sponged onto Shimmery White CS.  The stars were added with the white Chalk Marker.  Supplies are below. HELLO, PUNKIN!! SU! GATHER TOGETHER MISH MASH and MORE PLAID!

Image
Happy Fall, Stampers!      I just love pumpkins for Fall, so played again with the Gather Together pumpkins and a couple of elements from another set and some retired dies.       The base and card front are Mango Melody with a layer of Plaid Tidings.  The fence was die cut from the same plaid using the retired Farmhouse Framelits dies.  The bare tree is from Snow Front, stamped in Early Espresso, as is the sentiment.  The little leaves are die cut with tiny non-SU! dies I've had for some time - I think they were a gift.  Of course, if you have the new Autumn Punch Pack, even better!  I used white CS on the inside and just stamped and colored the two-pumpkin image at the bottom.

More Plaid Tidings with Love of Leaves

Image
. Hiya, Stampers! Haven't posted in ages, and here I am doing several posts in one day.  Well, one of the reasons is that it is an absolutely gorgeous September day here and I have the laptop out on the screened porch!  Another is that I wanted to get caught up with my blog because I want to start looking online for inspiration and play around with some Christmas card ideas. Yes, another Plaid Tidings* card!  This particular plaid is my favorite.  I think because it contains several colors:  Black, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry and Bumblebee. We embossed the Bumblebee CS withSupplies below. the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder, lined up and adhered a 3" square of Rich Razzleberry CS cut with the largest scalloped square die, and cut through both layers with the largest leaf from the Stitched Leaves dies.  A 3" square of plaid DSP was added behind these layers with Dimensionals before layering onto the card base.  We die cut leaves in Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Gold F

Quadrangle Cards with Altered Plaid Tidings, Daisy Lane and Love of Leaves - CASE COMBO

Image
Hey, Stampers! These two September stamp camp cards are a combination of two ideas from the blogs of Connie Babbert (Inkspired Treasures) and LeeAnn Greff (Flowerbug's Inkspot).   The Plaid Tidings* pieces shown here did not originally contain the blue line. Connie shared that she simply took a ruler and the Light Night of Navy Stampin' Blends and drew her own accent color!  I would never have thought of that. The angled DSP was shared by LeeAnn and is a great way to decorate 4 cards with one sheet of 6x6 DSP.  She shared a video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7x0WfVafXZ8&t=537s    For the mat layer, I cut a piece of colored CS 6-1/4 x 6-1/4 and marked each edge at 1-5/8 instead of what LeeAnn tried, although you will still have to do a little trimming on on or two sides. This will mean more to you once you check out LeeAnn's video. The leaves on the daisy card were cut with the Poppy Moments Dies. Supplies, colors, etc. are below. *15% off DSP Sale Octob

Hello, again, Stampers! I do love plaids!  Especially for Fall and Christmas cards.  We created this at September Stamp Camp and I've added another version below, using the Love of Leaves Bundle.  I will provide supplies for both, below.. *This DSP will be 15% off October 1-31. August Stamp Camp - WAY TO GOAT

Image
Hello, Stampers!     Just love this cute set, Way to Goat.  We all need a little humor right now.  Minimal coloring on this one, just a few Stampin' Blends or Markers, the Layering Circles Dies and DSP, Artistry Blooms.  The 4 x 5-1/4 mat is Granny Apple Green and the circle mats are Coastal Cabana.  Some ribbon or twine (we https://sueduffy.stampinup.net used a retired thick baker's twine) and a little bling - that's it!  Products below. JULY 2020 STAMP CAMP - WHALE DONE SLIDER PEEK-A-BOO

Image
Hey, Stampers!     These peek-a-boo sliders are so fun and really easy - just scoring and adhesive in the right spots to get the slider.  Notice that what is inside the window on the inside of the card is different than what you would expect looking at the outside!  ;-)  Leave a Comment or email me and I can email printable instructions to you.  You can also watch an excellent tutorial on Jennifer McGuire's YouTube channel under the heading "Peek-a-Boo Cards," where she also provides a few helpful tips to keep your card "moving."

JULY 2020 STAMP CAMP - STRAIGHT UP FUN!

Image
Hi, Stampers!     The Whiskey Business set is fun to play with and has such fun sentiments.  My photo, unfortunately, doesn't show the Cinnamon Cider background as rich as this color really is.  Here are the details.     The card base is Very Vanilla Thick CS, with a Cinnamon Cider 5-1/4 x 4 layer embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder.  The brick-look overlay is a 3 x 3-3/4 piece from the In Good Taste DSP. The decanter is stamped on a 3" Shimmery White die-cut circle and the glass was fussy-cut.  The whiskey was colored with a combination of Stampin' Blends and marker, and the top was colored with Copper Delicata inkusing a Blender Pen.  The sentiment is stamped on a 3/4" scrap of the DSP and the ends punched with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.

JULY 2020 STAMP CAMP - COMFORT & HOPE WATERCOLOR WASH

Image
Hi, Stampers!     Comfort & Hope is one of the sets new to the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  The focal point is Watercolor Cardstock 3 x 3-3/4, mounted on Dimensionals, washed with Flirty Flamingo using Aqua Painter/Water Pen and the edges sponged.  The stamped circles are stamped with Gold Glitz Delicata ink and the woven-look background is stamped in Crumb Cake.  The leaves (fussy-cut) and sentiment are stamped in one of the new In Colors, Misty Moonlight.     The card base is Very Vanilla Thick CS and is embossed with the retired Coastal Weave embossing folder part of the way up and accented by a 1/4" strip of Gold Foil.     The accents are Gold Glitter Enamel Dots and a Gold Hoop.          Happy Stampin’! JULY 2020 STAMP CAMP - DAISY LANE AWASH IN PRETTY PEACOCK AND ROCOCO ROSE

Image
Hello, Stampers! These were the options for one of my July stamp camp projects.  Pretty simple.  All of the white areas are Shimmery White CS.  The color wash background is 4-1/4 x 3-1/2, the sentiment "tag" is 1" and the Champagne accent strip is 1/4."  We used Copper Trim on the Pretty Peacock version.  All stamping and the wash are in Pretty Peacock and Rococo Rose, are the card bases.  The daisies are each one full strength layer and one layer stamped off.  A good card to have in your stash for any occasion.  Products are below. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

STAMPIN' UP! POSITIVE THOUGHTS in PINK & GRAY

Image
Hello, Stampers! Positive Thoughts is a new-to-me set that was carried over into the 2020 Annual Catalog.  There are coordinating dies, Nature's Thoughts, but they were not carried over as a bundle.  Yes, the fancy "stitched" rectangle is included in the dies!  I used Shimmery White CS for that piece and the die cut flower.

ANOTHER MUSIC FROM THE HEART (Retiring)

Image
Hi, Stampers! One of the reasons I like this set is that I thought it would be great for Valentines Day cards, with this sentiment in particular.  The sketch for this card is by Mary Fish - I changed it a little color-wise and I used a different embossing folder.  I used what I had, which is the Seaside embossing folder (on the 3 x 5 Gorgeous Grape piece), an older whale-tale heart punch and the Subtle embossing folder on the 3 x 4 Real Red piece.  You can use any heart punch or heart dies. The white piece behind the red is 2 x 3-1/4.  I liked the way Mary offset this piece, so I did the same.  It is glued to the red and both popped up on Dimensionals.  See the inside on my Blog. SAH CARD FOR MY NIECE AND HER HUSBAND in NYS

Image
Hello, Stampers! I wanted to create a quick card for my niece and her husband, who live in East Aurora, NY (near Buffalo).  The NYS stay-at-home orders have been much tighter than ours because they have so many more cases than here.  I don't believe they are even opening outdoor seating at restaurants until possibly next week.   The convex circle background (I love optical illusions) was created by sponging with Distress Inks onto a Funky Fossil Designs stencil (a UK designer) called 3D Sphere.  I layered this 5 x 3-3/4 piece onto Flirty Flamingo, leaving a 1/16" border. The "smile" die is by Lawn Fawn/Cuts and is two layers of Flirty Flamingo and one Basic Black, slightly offset, attached with a few Mini Glue Dots.  I used my old large corner rounder punch on the lower right corner. I used the new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch for the inside sentiment, printed in Bermuda Bay, and a couple of die cuts from the (sadly) retired Sip Sip Hooray Bundle,* rather than print ou

SAILING HOME TO GRADUATION!

Image
Hi, Stampers! Well, here it is, almost June.  I would have thought that during full SAH that the time would just drag, but at least for me, it has flown by!  I hope it's been like that for you, as well. Since many graduation gatherings have been delayed, I decided it wasn't too late to post for you a graduation card you can make with a bundle and DSP you likely already have.  Inside, this card says, "Set sail in the direction of your dreams."  I think this is a perfect sentiment for someone starting a new stage in their life, either after HS or college.  I also added the sea birds and a sailboat inside. MORE SHARE SUNSHINE COVID-19 DOWNLOAD SAMPLES

Image
Hi, Stampers! Here are two more easy samples for you using the $12 Covid-19 .pdf that you can order here.   https://covid19.stampinup.com/ The two Quarantini cards are quick and easy to make.  The slightly different template was inspired by Jackie Bolhuis' card at Klompen Stampers.  Once again, I used retired DSP scraps, so I will not list that here.  The only stamp I used is "It's your day!," from the Under My Umbrella set, which fit perfectly over the top of the "Have another Quaran-tini" sentiment from the download.  Find measurements and supplies below. Hello, Stampers! Aren't these face masks adorable?  Well I could have picked a prettier pattern for the second one, but I get so stingy with my time that if I'm experimenting and it turns out, it's going on a card!  LOL  I imagine you've seen them different places on the Net, but here is a link to the video that taught me - they really are pretty easy.  Lisa Fleming,  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBzo_zxdOnk&list=LL5V72yr7nEvrjYqurV6TT_Q&index=25&t=100s I do have a couple of photos and measurements for you, some suggestions and hints, so be sure to click "Read in browser" or "Read below" for those. EMBOSSED AND WATERCOLORED - LOVELY MAGNOLIAS

Image
Hello, Stampers! I'm so glad the Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder is not retiring.  I embossed watercolor card stock with the embossing folder and then just colored it with ink pads and here and there with Stampin' Blends.  It's hard to tell here, but the turned up edges of the magnolias are colored Soft Sea Foam and I added Clear Wink of Stella to the flower centers.  The DSP is Magnolia Lane. I did run into one problem.  Watercolor card stock has a mind of it's own and/or I embossed it too deeply - I ran it through the Big Shot several times.  I had some problems with warping, so if I try it again, I may try going light on the water and using Shimmery White CS instead.  The background is a combination of Blushing Bride and Petal Pink.  The leaves were die-cut with the Magnolia Memories Dies.  The sentiment is embossed on Mossy Meadow and is from a very old set I go to often, Warmest Regards.  More colors and supplies are below. MANGO POPPIES THANK YOU NOTE with LABEL ME BOLD (again)

Image
Hello, Stampers! I'm glad Painted Poppies has carried over to the 2020-21 Annual Catalog ( and , it has been carried over as a 10% off Bundle with the Painted Labels dies).  Although I love the poppies DSP and have used it tons, I wanted to use something other than our usual reds, purples or pink, which seem a natural for this set.  Since I'm a big fan of Mango Melody, that'swthat I used . I wanted to keep this to no layers, so I stamped the flower with the "fill-in" stamp in the set with Mango Melody and added a little bit darker accents with the marker as opposed to Blends, which show through on the reverse.  The Label Me Bold "thank you" is stamped in Old Olive and popped up with Mini Dimensionals.   Not sure if you can see here, but I laid the note card face down on my Simply Scored and scored two lines, about 5/8" apart, across the front for just a little something extra. SU! 2020-22 IN COLORS!

Image
Hi, Stampers!      Just wanted to give you a sneak peek.  These are the 2020-22 Stampin' Up! In Colors!  Which do you think might be your favorite?  I love the Cinnamon Cider, because it reminds me of the old Creamy Caramel - who remembers that?  How long ago was that?  Looks good enough to eat.  I like them all, but the softness of Bumble Bee, if these are true color projections.  It's hard to be spot on when dealing with different mediums.      There you have it.  I'll post another little note card with the retiring Label Me Bold set in a little while. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

LITTLE-NOTICED RETIRING SET - LABEL ME BOLD with MOUNTAIN AIR and SNOW FRONT TREES

Image
Hello, Stampers!      I just recently noticed the Label Me Bold set in the January-June 2020 Mini.  I have always liked this type of strip sentiment.  I also like the smudges, squiggles and stars, etc. in the set, which, sadly, is not being carried over.  I used the little stars in the sky above, as well.  I love this impression of looking up through the trees at the sky.  I also made a couple in shades of green on Seaside Spray CS and one on Balmy Blue, but I thought them a bit dull - one is below - you might feel differently!  I used Snow Front for some of the trees.      Good news, BTW.  Mountain Air has been carried over as a 10% off Bundle!  #153820      I made up a couple different sentiments of my own for the inside and will print them, as needed.  Click "Read more" or "Read in browser" for colors and supplies. RETIRING - MUSIC FROM THE HEART

Image
Hello, Stampers!      I'm sorry to say this set, Music From the Heart, designed by Million $ sales winner Dawn Olchefske, will not be carried over into the 2020-21 Annual Catalog.  I haven't had it very long, but will surely keep it because it's not flowers, animals or scenery!  LOL  The inspiration for my card came from Mary Brown - I changed some colors and the sentiment, but otherwise, the credit is due Mary.  Don't you love the LPs?     I used Black Foil for my LPs, but regular Basic Black CS is fine.  Also not necessary to use DSP for the guitar - it's a bit flimsy for fussy-cutting.  I plan to use Gorgeous Grape for my next guitar.  ;-)      Click "Read more" or "Read in browser" for my colors and supplies. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net
