MARKERS TECHNIQUE TO CREATE FALL WITH WINTER WOODS - October Stamp Camp

Image
Happy Fall, Stampers!    I've seen a couple of versions of a color-layering technique with this set and the Stamparatus, one or two with Sponge Daubers and Patty Bennett has a video tutorial (using mostly greens) with Stampin' Write Markers.  You can find it here .     Basically, you just use any colors you want - we used colors for Fall - place your stamp where you want it on your card front, pick it up with your Stamparatus and off you go!  Your Simply Shammy or baby wipes will come in handy, too.        NOTE:  Color the tree trunks last, just in case your paper inadvertently moves a little. SNOW DOESN'T JUST MEAN WINTER! STAMPIN' UP! SNOW FRONT STAMP SET - PSST!

Image
Snow Front (Photopolymer) #150483  $22 Host Code  HJ9CHKVS   Psst!  Mystery One-Day Sale Coming Next Week! Hi, Stampers!        Click the photo to get a close-up look at the stamps and click here to go to Pinterest to get some ideas, from works of art to the clean and simple. Of course, almost any set with trees grabs me, and I love the little deer!  Think about how you might combine it with parts and pieces of your Waterfront stamp set (#146386, p.125 AC) and more.  I love the samples I've seen with the Wrapped in Plaid Specialty DSP (#149596, p.14 HC) as the background layer.  Trees and holiday plaids, what could be better?  ;-) There are so many things you can do with this set. You can create a complete scene, or take little elements and create something new entirely, or create a no-layers card (some of my favorites, especially for note cards). The opportunities are endless. So. Many. Layers! This stamp set was designed as a Two-Step set, so pack on those layers,

FUN HALLOWEEN NOTE CARDS - October Stamp Camp

Image
Hi, Stampers!      Each of us played around and made a version of this note card at my October Stamp Camp.  Love the books from the Monster Bash DSP.  The little spider jar is fussy-cut from one of the sheets in that pack, as well.  We used mostly retired stamps and a few other retired products. I also had available the stamps included with the October Paper pumpkin treats kit - love the skeletons!  We used the Monster Bash Enamel Shapes, Cat Punch and the retired Bitty Bat Punch - each of us just did our own thing.  Products here. WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR LEFTOVER DIE CUT - BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP NOTE CARD

Image
Hello, Stampers!      You may recall that when I posted about the Perrenial Essence Lilypad/Lakeside card, I suggested you hang on to the section you cut out with the Stitched Rectangle Die to form the frame.  This is what we created with that leftover rectangle - so pretty, so easy and so handy to have in your stash.  More info. IT'S NEVER TOO EARLY TO START PREPARING FOR CHRISTMAS! and STAMPIN' UPDATES and TIPS

Image
Hello, Stampers!      Some of you are probably surprised to hear from me because right now we are supposed to be in Nova Scotia on a tour.  Long story short, hurricane Dorian resulted in our flight to Halifax from Toronto being cancelled on Saturday, and I wasn't able to book flights for Sunday before they were sold out, although I'm not sure if they would have flown as scheduled, either.        Anyway, above is a little stop-motion video to nudge you toward deciding what you'd like to create for the holidays, because we know it's never too early to start if you want to create your own holiday cards!  No, I haven't forgotten about Fall and Thanksgiving.  ;-)        Speaking of creating, Paper Pumpkin usually has some great Fall and Christmas ideas to speed things along.  (I hope you were able to sign up for your PP Halloween treats kit this month!) SIMPLE WATERCOLOR MAGNOLIA and a Reminder

Image
Hi, Stampers!      I hope you enjoy a pleasant Labor Day and that you have lovely weather for what is considered summer's last hurrah.  :-(   But, one good thing about September, besides that it's usually a beautiful month, it's Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog time!  The HC is open for business on Wednesday, September 4.    Okay, to this card...      I saw the original of this card on Pinterest by Debbie Henderson - I like hers better, but thought I'd share mine, anyway, 'cause it's still pretty, I think.  I don't think you can exactly duplicate with water-coloring - either you've got it (the talent) or you don't - I'm somewhere in between I think.      Anyway, click here or the photo for the details .  TFL Happy Stampin’! FIRST CHRISTMAS CARD IDEA - STAMPIN' UP! MERRY MOOSE (PUNCH) BUNDLE SNEAK PEEK - Available Sept. 4

Image
Hello, Stampers!      As a demonstrator with SU!, I can pre-order from catalogs a month in advance, so I've had the Merry Moose Bundle (p.27) for a week or so.  I've been itching to experiment with it for Christmas - you know it will be here before we know it!  Links will go live Sept. 4.      Since I was experimenting, I used a retired plaid Christmas DSP, but for the real thing, I will use paper from the Wrapped in Plaid Specialty 6x6 Pack (pp.12-15 HC).  I am partial to plaids for non-secular holiday cards.      I used two more new products in the Holiday Catalog, as well.  Basic Pattern Decorative Masks (p. 35) and Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink Pad for the background and to stamp the moose silhouette, which is popped up on Dimensionals.  The Delicata is much prettier IRL - nice and sparkly.      The card Base is Thick WW, as is the punched moose.  The third largest Stitched Rectangle Die can be used to cut the white layer - the edges are sponged with Delicat

STAMPIN' UP! MAGNOLIA LANE SUITE 3D

Image
Hi, Stampers!      This is another sample from my August stamp camp, introducing my stampin' friends to this lovely suite (pp. 36-39 Annual Catalog).  This card is super easy, but is not quite as it appears.  It appears that the embossing and scalloped edge were cut and embossed on the front of the base and that the DSP is actually on the inside of the base.  Actually, the scalloped, embossed layer and the 1" x 4" DSP strip are attached to the front of the card base.  The embossed layer is popped up on Dimensionals.  See more here. . STAMPIN' UP! GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIA BUNDLE IN PINK AND YELLOW

Image
Hiya, Stampers!      We created this card with the very popular Good Morning Magnolia Bundle (pp.36-39) - isn't it lovely?  No, the beautiful magnolia and leaves are not fussy-cut!  Yea!  Leaves and flower cut with one die (although there are lots of others in the set). We die-cut a small flower for the inside of the card and you can add your desired sentiment at the lower left. Click here for more and to see this card in Petal Pink . Happy Stampin’! EASY CARD FRONT WITH STAMPIN' UP! PETALS WASHI AND SPECIALTY DSP

Image
Hi, Stampers!    This lovely card was so easy to create.  The 3-1/2 x 5 top layer is a section of one of the sheets in the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP (12 x 12).  This particular page is sectioned off into gorgeous photographic florals and backgrounds that are perfect for card fronts and scrapbook pages.  I made the 3D flowers accents on this particular floral wreath piece of DSP from the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape in the Annual Catalog (p.172).  How-to photos here. STAMPIN' UP! SAILING HOME THROUGH STORMY SEAS

Image
Hello, Stampers!      The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this particular pattern in the wonderfully colorful See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper, was a storm at sea.  So... I grabbed my Sailing Home Bundle because it is perfect for that theme, but I also made a second one using the sentiment, "Let hope be your lighthouse..." from the High Tide set.   Read more of this post. STAMPIN' UP!'S BACK ON YOUR FEET FOR BEGINNERS CARD BUFFET

Image
Hello, Stampers!      I hope you are able to stay reasonably cool during this miserable heat wave.  It looks like it might break overnight here in Indiana - I emphasize the word might.  I have used this good excuse to stay indoors to begin preparing for a card-making "outing" a professional friend of mine has planned for her staff early in August.  Each year the office closes for a day and she plans and treats her staff to a surprise outing - last year they did goat Yoga!  This class will certainly be a far cry from that.  They will do something outdoors for part of the day and then to my house - they have never stamped!          I pre-stamped all of the images for these note cards (based on cards shared on Pinterest by Amy Koendors, using the Scalloped Note Cards).  My group will stamp their own sentiments and, of course, color and assemble.  I even pre-tied the bows and, per a tip from my upline, attached them to a strip of glue dots! STAMPIN' UP!'S COUNTRY ROAD IN COPPER

Image
Hi, Stampers!      Stampers at my July camp could make either one of these cards and could also reverse mat colors, etc.  However, all of the weather vanes are heat embossed with Copper EP.       On the focal point piece, the light backgrounds were stamped, then we used the Embossing Buddy before stamping with Versamark and heat embossing.   The feint backgrounds are from the Gallery Grunge set and stamped with Crumb Cake Ink, some stamped off first. The stars on the card on the right are stamped in Balmy Blue, stamped off, first.  The sentiment is in Early Espresso.      The focal points are 3 x 2-1/4 WW Thick CS.  The colored CS is Pool Party and Early Espresso.  The focal point is lightly sponged around the edge with Crumb Cake and the white mat with Balmy Blue. Click "Read more" or "Read in browser" for more. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

EASY STAMPIN' UP! MEMORABLE MOSAIC/MOSAIC MOOD DSP CARD

Image
Hello, Stampers!      Here is another card from my July Stamp Camp - so quick and easy!  I love this Specialty DSP with the glossy details.        The card base is Terracotta Tile and a couple of the smaller images of the stamp set are stamped on it, also with Terracotta Tile.  The DSP is 3-7/8" square, mounted on Soft Suede, and the sentiment is stamped on with Soft Suede on Very Vanilla.  We added short tails of 5/8" burlap ribbon.      The inside is Very Vanilla with a strip of the DSP down the right side. Supplies are listed below - click "Read in browser." Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net
