EMBOSSED AND WATERCOLORED - LOVELY MAGNOLIAS

Image
Hello, Stampers! I'm so glad the Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder is not retiring.  I embossed watercolor card stock with the embossing folder and then just colored it with ink pads and here and there with Stampin' Blends.  It's hard to tell here, but the turned up edges of the magnolias are colored Soft Sea Foam and I added Clear Wink of Stella to the flower centers.  The DSP is Magnolia Lane. I did run into one problem.  Watercolor card stock has a mind of it's own and/or I embossed it too deeply - I ran it through the Big Shot several times.  I had some problems with warping, so if I try it again, I may try going light on the water and using Shimmery White CS instead.  The background is a combination of Blushing Bride and Petal Pink.  The leaves were die-cut with the Magnolia Memories Dies.  The sentiment is embossed on Mossy Meadow and is from a very old set I go to often, Warmest Regards.  More colors and supplies are below. NO APRIL SHOWERS HERE! - UNDER MY UMBRELLA BUNDLE

Image
Hello, Stampers! This template was inspired by a Pinterest post by Jini Merck, stampwithjini.com.  A simple wash background (on WW Thick CS), See A Silhouette DSP and Glossy CS for the rubber boots.  (I probably could have gone a little brighter on the DSP umbrella.)  The flowers and boots are fussy-cut and the sentiment was punched with circle punches and popped up with Dimensionals, with a little ribbon underneath.  Links to the products are below. Hope you are staying inside, taking precautions and staying well.  Good excuse for some extra stamping and crafting. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

REMINDER - LAST DAY TO BUY 3 Get 1 FREE DSP SALE See my post of August 27 Happy Fall, Stampers!      Hope you DO have Fall weather - we are back to Summer here.  High 80's - good day to stay inside and stamp - looking for inspiration for simple cards and creating samples for my Christmas stamp-a-stack.      We made this easy late Summer, early Fall, or masculine card at my September Stamp Camp.  There is a simple reason for the layout - the Very Vanilla card front is the full width of the Birch background stamp.  ;-)  Find details here . . .  very easy. WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR LEFTOVER DIE CUT - BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP NOTE CARD

Image
Hello, Stampers!      You may recall that when I posted about the Perrenial Essence Lilypad/Lakeside card, I suggested you hang on to the section you cut out with the Stitched Rectangle Die to form the frame.  This is what we created with that leftover rectangle - so pretty, so easy and so handy to have in your stash.  More info. SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW... FOR HALLOWEEN - COFFIN TREAT BOXES FROM THE 2019 HOLIDAY CATALOG!

Image
Hi, Stampers!      I recommend the September Paper Pumpkin kit for your quick treat-making, of course, but I had my heart set on using these coffin boxes from the Holiday Catalog for the holiday treats I usually pass out to the folks in my spin class - death by chocolate!      The boxes go together easily with Multipurpose Glue or Tear & Tape (or Fast Fuse) - all scored and cut for you - just decorate as you wish!  Here, I embossed the lids and on the right one I used the Swirls & Curls embossing folder.  I lightly brushed it with the new Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink Pad, as well.  I got the embossing idea from CreatewithChristy on YouTube.       Unfortunately, I have very few of the new Halloween items from the Holiday Catalog, so I went with what I had and even resorted to printing my own!  More info here.   Frankly, it would be a lot easier with the Monster Bash Bundle (love those frames), but...   LOL Happy Stampin’! EASY CARD FRONT WITH STAMPIN' UP! PETALS WASHI AND SPECIALTY DSP

Image
Hi, Stampers!    This lovely card was so easy to create.  The 3-1/2 x 5 top layer is a section of one of the sheets in the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP (12 x 12).  This particular page is sectioned off into gorgeous photographic florals and backgrounds that are perfect for card fronts and scrapbook pages.  I made the 3D flowers accents on this particular floral wreath piece of DSP from the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape in the Annual Catalog (p.172).  How-to photos here. STAMPIN' UP! SAILING HOME THROUGH STORMY SEAS

Image
Hello, Stampers!      The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this particular pattern in the wonderfully colorful See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper, was a storm at sea.  So... I grabbed my Sailing Home Bundle because it is perfect for that theme, but I also made a second one using the sentiment, "Let hope be your lighthouse..." from the High Tide set.   Read more of this post. STAMPIN' UP!'S BACK ON YOUR FEET FOR BEGINNERS CARD BUFFET

Image
Hello, Stampers!      I hope you are able to stay reasonably cool during this miserable heat wave.  It looks like it might break overnight here in Indiana - I emphasize the word might.  I have used this good excuse to stay indoors to begin preparing for a card-making "outing" a professional friend of mine has planned for her staff early in August.  Each year the office closes for a day and she plans and treats her staff to a surprise outing - last year they did goat Yoga!  This class will certainly be a far cry from that.  They will do something outdoors for part of the day and then to my house - they have never stamped!          I pre-stamped all of the images for these note cards (based on cards shared on Pinterest by Amy Koendors, using the Scalloped Note Cards).  My group will stamp their own sentiments and, of course, color and assemble.  I even pre-tied the bows and, per a tip from my upline, attached them to a strip of glue dots! STAMPIN' UP!® BACK ON YOUR FEET

Image
Hello, Fellow Stampers!      Today we have a totally original idea by Sue!  LOL  Sadly, they are few and far between.  I was motivated to create this card by the fact a neighbor recently underwent back surgery and I doubted he would appreciate something flowery.  ;-)  So, let's get started. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Details Whisper White Thick vertical card base with a mat of So Saffron or Daffodil Delight - I actually made two of these - and 5 x 3-3/4 Whisper White for the top layer. I colored a dab of Embossing Paste (you don't need much) with a couple of drops of Cajun Craze Refill and added it using our brick-look mask.  I did not want it to be solid. I hand-cut a 4" piece of Granny Apple Green CS to make it a little uneven and then used our retired Fringe Scissors to make the grass. You can just use Paper Snips.  I added the piece I had trimmed off at the bottom and sponged some color on it, added it with Liquid Glue to the

ROOTED IN NATURE "FLORAL" - June 2019 Stamp Camp

Image
Hi, Stampers!      I cannot claim the clever use of these images as my own.  I've made only a couple of changes to the original I saw, I think, on Pinterest some time ago. If you follow me on Pinterest - Stamp with Sue - you'll see I posted several new cards on my SU! Rooted in Nature board while I was looking for the original of this "floral," because I do like to give credit.  Unfortunately, no luck - maybe you'll do better.  Anyway, let's get started! STAMPIN' UP! VARIATION ON CATALOG SAMPLE - SAILING HOME BUNDLE - June Stamp Camp

Image
Hi, Stampers!      We made this version of a Sailing Home SU! Annual Catalog sample (p.144).  The sample background was made with the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack (p.145), but I don't have that, so we improvised using the retired TIEF, Seaside, because I don't have the new High Seas 3D Embossing Folder, either! (p.198).  So, you may ask, is this really a CAS of the Sample?  About as close as I could get with what I had.  ;-)  See?  You don't have to have every single product in order to create.  Please comment or email for a FREE Project Sheet!     Let's get started.    Happy Stampin’! PAPER COASTER STICKY NOTES HOLDER* TUTORIAL - June 2019 STAMP CAMP

Image
Image © Stampin' Up!® Hi, Stampers!      * With slight changes in the measurements and decoration, this old standby Sticky Note Holder is a CAS from a YouTube Video by Angie Juda,Chic'nScratch.  You can  find it by searching for “Gingham Gala Coaster Post It Notes” on YouTube. Below is the step-by-step tutorial I created for stamp camp.  Use any of your favorite DSP's.  We used the retired Gingham Gala because I have plenty of it.   If you would like a FREE printable tutorial, leave a comment with your email address or send me an email!  Let's get started. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net       NOTE:   M y first change was to the size of the DSP for the cover.  The coasters are 3-1/2 x 3-1/2, same as Angie’s, but I enlarged the DSP measurement to 5 x 5 for easier handling.  (If you use 4x4 coasters, use 6x6 DSP.)  I changed the CS for the inside/binding to 6-7/8 x 3-1/4 and the scoring to 3-1/4 and 3-5/8 to allow for
