STAMPIN' UP!'S BACK ON YOUR FEET FOR BEGINNERS CARD BUFFET

Image
Hello, Stampers!      I hope you are able to stay reasonably cool during this miserable heat wave.  It looks like it might break overnight here in Indiana - I emphasize the word might.  I have used this good excuse to stay indoors to begin preparing for a card-making "outing" a professional friend of mine has planned for her staff early in August.  Each year the office closes for a day and she plans and treats her staff to a surprise outing - last year they did goat Yoga!  This class will certainly be a far cry from that.  They will do something outdoors for part of the day and then to my house - they have never stamped!          I pre-stamped all of the images for these note cards (based on cards shared on Pinterest by Amy Koendors, using the Scalloped Note Cards).  My group will stamp their own sentiments and, of course, color and assemble.  I even pre-tied the bows and, per a tip from my upline, attached them to a strip of glue dots! STAMPIN' UP!'S COUNTRY ROAD IN COPPER

Image
Hi, Stampers!      Stampers at my July camp could make either one of these cards and could also reverse mat colors, etc.  However, all of the weather vanes are heat embossed with Copper EP.       On the focal point piece, the light backgrounds were stamped, then we used the Embossing Buddy before stamping with Versamark and heat embossing.   The feint backgrounds are from the Gallery Grunge set and stamped with Crumb Cake Ink, some stamped off first. The stars on the card on the right are stamped in Balmy Blue, stamped off, first.  The sentiment is in Early Espresso.      The focal points are 3 x 2-1/4 WW Thick CS.  The colored CS is Pool Party and Early Espresso.  The focal point is lightly sponged around the edge with Crumb Cake and the white mat with Balmy Blue. EASY STAMPIN' UP! MEMORABLE MOSAIC/MOSAIC MOOD DSP CARD

Image
Hello, Stampers!      Here is another card from my July Stamp Camp - so quick and easy!  I love this Specialty DSP with the glossy details.        The card base is Terracotta Tile and a couple of the smaller images of the stamp set are stamped on it, also with Terracotta Tile.  The DSP is 3-7/8" square, mounted on Soft Suede, and the sentiment is stamped on with Soft Suede on Very Vanilla.  We added short tails of 5/8" burlap ribbon.      The inside is Very Vanilla with a strip of the DSP down the right side. Supplies are listed below - click "Read in browser." Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

MEMORABLE MOSAIC - July 2019 STAMP CAMP and CHANGE IN AUGUST STAMP CAMP DATE

Image
Hi, Stamper's!      We created a version of this card at Stamp Camp this past Saturday - stampers had options as to sentiments.  This particular sentiment is embossed with White EP and it is from the Painted Glass stamp set.  We also stamped a butterfly from that set inside the card.  The card stock colors above are Pear Pizzazz and Highland Heather, but we used different colors at camp - Rococo Rose and Mint Macaron. Supplies and details are below - click "Read in browser ." Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

STAMPIN' UP!® BACK ON YOUR FEET

Image
Hello, Fellow Stampers!      Today we have a totally original idea by Sue!  LOL  Sadly, they are few and far between.  I was motivated to create this card by the fact a neighbor recently underwent back surgery and I doubted he would appreciate something flowery.  ;-)  So, let's get started. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Details Whisper White Thick vertical card base with a mat of So Saffron or Daffodil Delight - I actually made two of these - and 5 x 3-3/4 Whisper White for the top layer. I colored a dab of Embossing Paste (you don't need much) with a couple of drops of Cajun Craze Refill and added it using our brick-look mask.  I did not want it to be solid. I hand-cut a 4" piece of Granny Apple Green CS to make it a little uneven and then used our retired Fringe Scissors to make the grass. You can just use Paper Snips.  I added the piece I had trimmed off at the bottom and sponged some color on it, added it with Liquid Glue to the

ROOTED IN NATURE "FLORAL" - June 2019 Stamp Camp

Image
Hi, Stampers!      I cannot claim the clever use of these images as my own.  I've made only a couple of changes to the original I saw, I think, on Pinterest some time ago. If you follow me on Pinterest - Stamp with Sue - you'll see I posted several new cards on my SU! Rooted in Nature board while I was looking for the original of this "floral," because I do like to give credit.  Unfortunately, no luck - maybe you'll do better.  Anyway, let's get started! STAMPIN' UP! VARIATION ON CATALOG SAMPLE - SAILING HOME BUNDLE - June Stamp Camp

Image
Hi, Stampers!      We made this version of a Sailing Home SU! Annual Catalog sample (p.144).  The sample background was made with the Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack (p.145), but I don't have that, so we improvised using the retired TIEF, Seaside, because I don't have the new High Seas 3D Embossing Folder, either! (p.198).  So, you may ask, is this really a CAS of the Sample?  About as close as I could get with what I had.  ;-)  See?  You don't have to have every single product in order to create.  Please comment or email for a FREE Project Sheet!     Let's get started.    Happy Stampin’! PAPER COASTER STICKY NOTES HOLDER* TUTORIAL - June 2019 STAMP CAMP

Image
Image © Stampin' Up!® Hi, Stampers!      * With slight changes in the measurements and decoration, this old standby Sticky Note Holder is a CAS from a YouTube Video by Angie Juda,Chic'nScratch.  You can  find it by searching for “Gingham Gala Coaster Post It Notes” on YouTube. Below is the step-by-step tutorial I created for stamp camp.  Use any of your favorite DSP's.  We used the retired Gingham Gala because I have plenty of it.   If you would like a FREE printable tutorial, leave a comment with your email address or send me an email!  Let's get started. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net       NOTE:   M y first change was to the size of the DSP for the cover.  The coasters are 3-1/2 x 3-1/2, same as Angie’s, but I enlarged the DSP measurement to 5 x 5 for easier handling.  (If you use 4x4 coasters, use 6x6 DSP.)  I changed the CS for the inside/binding to 6-7/8 x 3-1/4 and the scoring to 3-1/4 and 3-5/8 to allow for

SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW - PLAYING WITH SOMETHING NOT SU!

Image
Ahoy, Stampers!      Some time ago, I saw an image similar to this on Sarah G.'s blog at Funky Fossil Design's (UK).  I thought the design was so unique I just had to try something similar with SU! stamps.  FFD, a UK shop, designs and sells mostly stencils.      I used stamps from three separate SU! sets, one of which is retired:  Wherever You Go (retired), High Tide and Sailing Home, in the new Annual Catalog.  The sailboat and birds in the water drop on both cards, if you want to call it that, is from Sailing Home, the compass, GO sentiment and single bird on the blue card are from Wherever You Go.  On the aqua card, the sentiment is from Sailing Home and the birds at the bottom are from High Tide.      I used Distress Inks with two stencils: Lightbulb Aperture over Messy Rainbows .       For a Stitched Rectangles Dies Tip, stamp sets and other SU! supplies, click "Read in browser." WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE.... STAMPIN' UP! SAILING HOME, A LITTLE BRUSHO "ART PIECE"

Image
Hi, Stampers!     Playing around again with this easy brushing Brusho technique (see my May 4 post) .  This time I added some extra water droplets from my Aqua Painter for a little more interest.  Don't be afraid to experiment - try it, you'll love it! Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Details      The base is a vertical A2 card of Whisper White Thick CS, and the mat layer is also WW Thick, cut with the largest of the Stitched Rectangle dies. My "art piece" is 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 Watercolor Paper.      I sprinkled Prussian Blue and Yellow Brusho onto the Watercolor Paper and spritzed with water and brushed it with my Aqua Painter, blending the colors a little in the middle.  I then added droplets of water from my Aqua Painter here and there, dabbed off a little excess with a napkin, and let dry.      The sailboat and birds are stamped in Night of Navy, using my Stamparatus, in case I had to re-stamp.  When I made sure the stamped images w

CREATE ONE, GET ONE! DOUBLE DUTY DELIGHTFULLY DETAILED SPECIALTY DSP - May Stamp Camp

Image
Hi, Stampers!       More from my May DSP-focused Stamp Camp.  We turned our Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty DSP into a stencil!  The key to not tearing this delicate open-work design is to pounce the color on with your sponge, don't swirl or go back and forth, like we usually do.  There are two advantages to this technique of sponging:  this background looks like it was spritzed and the other, I'll show you later, so be sure to "Read more..." Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net .   Measurements Pineapple Punch CS – 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4; 2 pieces Whisper White CS - 4 x 5-1/4 OR die cut one piece for the front with largest of Stitched Rectangles Dies; Bermuda Bay (or any color) scrap + a scrap of Basic Black to die cut “Happy”; roughly 6x6 piece of Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty DSP Instructions Using Washi tape or other removable tape, tape a WW layer to scrap sheet of paper or a Silicone Mat and lay

PIECE OF CAKE - ANOTHER USE FOR YOUR RETIRING DSP! May 2019 Stamp Camp

Image
Hi, Stampers!      WE made this card as one of our projects at my May 11 Stamp Camp.  I posted the details earlier, so just go back to my post dated March 28 for more info! Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

ANOTHER FUN, QUICK AND EASY DSP CARD! MAY STAMP CAMP

Image
NEW HOST CODE:   YNBSWNMK Hello, Stampers!     I got the idea for this card from Kelly Acheson (A Stamp Above).  Pull out those punches, circle dies and DSP scraps again for this fun card!  Two of the circles here are cut or punched from the How Sweet It Is DSP (I love the bright and cheerful colors) and I don't even remember where we pulled the others from.  The only changes we made to Kelly's card (other than DSP) is that we added a little Wink of Stella on the candle and a couple of white enamel dots (retired), which we colored with Stampin' Blends.  Any bling will do.  More details and products used below. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Details:       The card base is Bermuda Bay (campers had their choice of BB or Melon Mambo), the Basic Black Mat is 5-1/4 x 4 and the WW layer is 5-1/8 x 3-7/8.      The Punches we used are 2-1/2", 1-3/4", 1-1/2" and 1-1/4."  Any circle shapes of comparable sizes will work.
