STAMPIN' UP!S COUNTRY FLORAL DYNAMIC TIEF - THE ALL-OCCASION CARD FOR YOUR PERSONAL STASH

Image
Hello, Stampers!      I can't get enough of this Dynamic TIEF - Country Floral.  This TIEF will be carried over to the Annual Catalog.      I created this simple card (and others) to keep on hand - an appropriate sentiment to be die-cut or punched out and added later, as needed.  It's a little bright and cheery for a condolence card,* but it's just right for Easter, spring, birthday, anniversary, get well or "just checking in."  The details are below. *See my  February 28  post for a softer look that would be appropriate for a condolence card. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net    Details The Gingham Gala DSP covers the front of the card base, an A2 top fold in Whisper White Thick CS.  The Country Floral embossed piece is 1/4 sheet of Shimmery White CS, trimmed to 5 x 3-3/4 after embossing. After embossing, I used Stampin' Blends in the colors below to color the flowers and leaves and a few random larger dots here and there.

STAMPIN' UP'S LET IT RIDE - ALCOHOL WESTERN SKY

Image
Howdy, Stampers!      I love horses, and today's card is a shameless CASE from a post on Pinterest by Jacquelyne Laburda, an artist in British Columbia.  I shamelessly used the same colors on my background, which brings to my mind sunset in big sky country.  It's actually pretty simple to do, so let's get started! Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Details 1/4 sheet Glossy White CS (you can trim to 5 x 3-3/4 later); Basic Black CS 5-1/4 x 4 for mat; Whisper White Thick CS for base. Wet some large cotton balls (1 for each color) with rubbing alcohol (70% is fine) and add a drop of refill to each of Calypso Coral, Lovely Lipstick and Gorgeous Grape.  Lightly wipe or drag each color across the Glossy CS until you've achieved the look you want.  Try to avoid puddling and don't hesitate to practice on some Glossy CS scraps.  The cotton balls will stay wet for a while. When the glossy is dry, using the Stamparatus , stamp the galloping ho

LESS IS MORE CHALLENGE #392 and AAA CARDS CHALLENGE #137

Image
Hi, Stampers!      I made this little note card to enter the Less is More Challenge in about 10 minutes and then saw the challenge at AAA Cards - Made in Minutes.  So I used it to enter both!  Less is More Challenge #392 is titled "Shine a Light, "  AAA Cards Challenge #137 is titled "Made in Minutes."      I used Stampin' Up!'s Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes and a Paper Trey Ink set and dies I have had, literally, for years, called "Lighten Up."  I used Distress Oxide ink (Fossilized Amber) for the sponging and Versafine Onyx Black for the lamp base and sentiment.  A scrap of SU! Butterfly Gala DSP for the shade and done!      Wish me luck! Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net

BIRTHDAYS ARE A "PIECE OF CAKE"! HOW SWEET IT IS

Image
Hiya, Stampers!     Today's card was created with the Piece of Cake Stamps/Punch Bundle and How Sweet It Is DSP (both are in the Occasions Catalog).  I love the bright colors in this paper pack.  In fact, I bought the DSP before I bought the Bundle!  I also really like the tongue-in-cheek sentiments.  The inside of my card says, "Who cares what the question is!"      Do you notice anything else about my card?  My cake stand is upside down!  LOL  Anyway, let's get started with measurement, etc. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Measurements      My card base is Coastal Cabana, a standard A2 Horizontal top-fold.  I embossed the front with the Polka Dot Basics TIEF.  The Gorgeous Grape CS piece is 4-1/4 x 2-3/4 and adhered to the base at an angle.  I think I should have made it a little bigger, like 4-1/2 x 3, so the embossing would show more.  I embossed it with the Dot to Dot TIEF (Occ. Catalog).  The DSP is 4 x 2-3/4.      The Grape c

PLAYING AROUND (AGAIN)! FAIRY TALE BIRTHDAY with FABLE FRIENDS

Image
Hello, Stampers!      I picked up some new toys this past weekend at the Heirloom show in Danville, IN.  I purchased this book stamp and die set from Toomuchfunrubberstamps.      My sentiment and Peter Rabbit book title were created on my laptop after much trial and error.  I printed them on labels, added to card stock and punched out or die-cut.  The book is stamped on Whisper White in Crumb Cake and stamped again on the DSP in Soft Suede, then die-cut. glued, etc.  I used a retired tri-corner punch for the corners on the DSP, but there is a pretty punch that is current, called "Detailed Trio," on p.211 in the Annual Catalog.  The Fable Friends set also makes adorable baby cards, of course.     The main Stampin' Up! products I used are set out below on my blog.  Please do leave a comment with any questions. STENCILED CONGRATS CARD - PAPER PLAYERS CHALLENGE #433 - NEW! CARDS FOR SALE!

Image
Hi, Stampers!     I have a new stencil (from Funky Fossils) and although that is not the name of the design, to me it screamed skyscrapers, urban, big city, etc.  I knew exactly how I wanted to use it and the The Paper Players Challenge 433 - One Layer Wonder - fit the bill, as well.      I sponged the stencil on Whisper White CS with Pacific Point and also thinly around the edges.  The "congrats" is die-cut from the Sale-a-Bration Grapefruit Grove Foil with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and the sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! set, Lift Me Up.  The card base is Grapefruit Grove CS. Products on my blog or below.       CARDS FOR SALE ANY of the cards you see on my Blog can be purchased!  Far less $ than in a store.  If anyone is interested, post a comment and I will set a general price.
