EMBOSSING WITH THINLITS and REINKERS ON GLOSSY

Image
This card uses two techniques - reinkers on glossy card stock and embossing with Thinlits.  I've included a close-up so you can see the results of the embossing - double the use of your Thinlits!  I love the blues and green for the butterfly, but decided to add a pop of Melon Mambo - kind of retro, don't you think?   Let's get started.   Measurements Coastal Cabana - 11 x 4-1/4, score at 5-1/2 Melon Mambo - 5-1/4 x 4 Lemon Lime Twist - 5 x 3-3/4 Glossy - 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 - or scrap large enough to die-cut butterfly and small flower Shimmery White (or plain) for greeting - 5/8 x 4 Basic Instructions On a silicone oven mat or other surface that can take the water, add several drops of reinker to Glossy CS - no more than 3 colors to avoid muddiness, and two is fine.  I used Coastal Cabana, Pacific Point and Lemon Lime Twist. Spritz with water until colors spread out or run together.  Lightly dab off excess water with paper towel or Simply Shammy

SAILBOATS ON A BRUSHO LAKE

Image
I   stared and stared at the background on the original version of this card on Pinterest (Vicki-Joyful Crafts) before I took a stab at recreating it. To me, it was an optical illusion.  My first guess was totally off base - pretty much a disaster.  My second guess was correct.  Here is the recipe. Measurements Whisper White Thick - 4-1/4 x 11, score at 5-1/2 Pacific Point - 2 pieces - 4 x 5-1/4 Watercolor paper - 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 Shimmery White - enough to die cut as many sailboats as you want and label for greeting Basic Instructions Spritz Watercolor paper with water and sprinkle Brusho - mostly Prussian Blue with a little Yellow, until background is to your liking - spritz more water if you need to.  Let air dry or use low setting on heat tool . With wavy Thinlit from Lakeside dies, horizontally center on dry Watercolor paper and cut several times. Be sure to leave a small border to hold it together .  Use Precision Plate and run through Big Shot several times, even t
