SPECIAL VALENTINES - CAN YOU HAVE TOO MUCH LACE? STAMPIN' UP! ® LACE DYNAMIC TIEF

Image
GINGHAM AND LACE Hi, Stampers!       Can you tell these photos are both the same card, just with different lighting?  I do love the FREE Grapefruit Grove iridescent foil in the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  I snapped the photo on the left near a window in natural light (it's overcast today) and couldn't seem to get the proper angle to show off the gorgeous highlights in this foil.  I had the card sitting on my desk getting ready to post some details and thought I'd see how it looked under my halogen desk lamp.  Wow!  So, I had to include both pics for you.      This is a really simple card, although certainly fussy-looking.  The mat layer is Smoky Slate because SS is the only gingham ribbon I have and I wanted to use it for a little contrast with all that lace.  The top layer is just WW embossed with the Dynamic Lace TIEF, as is the larger die-cut heart.  You could also emboss the smaller heart.  I decided to use "thankful for you" rather than the typic

FRESHLY MADE SKETCHES #373

Image
Hi, Stampers!      Above is my entry for FMS #373, which you can see below.  95% of what I used to make this card are favorite retired SU! In-Colors and Washi Tape or non-SU! (the stamps are from the Taylored Expressions Grumplings collection).  Of course, you could use any stamps and colors, as you will see from the Design Team's and other samples when you head on over to Freshly Made Sketches - just click my card or the Sketch below to get there.      I did use one of the 13 new Stampin' Up! Stitched Rectangle Framelits Dies for my focal point  (148551 $35) . Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net   .

SNEAK PEEK AT FEBRUARY'S PAPER PUMPKIN KIT - DEADLINE FEBRUARY 10

Image
Hello, Stampers!      We are getting a sneak peek at the February Paper Pumpkin Kit and it sounds adorable.  The word "succulents" is used in the video, so it will be plants-based, I presume.  And it looks like they stamps will be from the Distinktive line, as well!  Just click the video to make your own determination. MORE STAMPIN' UP! FLOWERING DESERT - INSPIRATION

Image
Hiya, Stampers!      Do you like the new look of my blog header?  Color is always good.  Today's card is, I shudder to even mention, based on the gorgeous stamping artwork of Michelle Zindorf.  She is on Pinterest and her specialty is stunning backgrounds.   Okay, mine is somewhat based on Michelle's, okay, barely, well, not even close.  LOL  Michelle is, I believe, a trained artist.  Anyway, I had fun experimenting and creating this feeble attempt.      My stamp camp customers like me to keep it simple, so we will not be duplicating this effort at class in February (although we will be using Flowering Desert for another card or note), but I'll share details with you here and products I used.

FLOWERING DESERT for THE PAPER PLAYERS SKETCH CHALLENGE PP426 -

Image
Hello, again, Stampers!      I received an email from The Paper Players  today with the new sketch and the placement of the sentiment is what actually hooked me.  I love this particular sentiment from Flowering Desert, but it's fairly long for the front of a card, so this sketch was perfect.  I poofed (another not in OED) my sentiment out a little bit in order to show a little more of the prickly-pear.  Not sure if you can tell, but the background is embossed with the Subtle TIEF.
