STAMPIN' UP! SUBTLE LET IT RIDE (April Stamp Camp) #simplestamping

Image
Hi, Stampers!      We created this card at my April 13 stamp camp.  Surprisingly, it is comprised of only two neutral colors - Night of Navy and Smoky Slate.  With the exception of the three little candy dots, I think it qualifies for SIP, too - just Stamps, Ink and Paper.  So, let's get started! Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Details Basic A2 card sizes with a Whisper White Thick base, in this case with a top fold. Lightly ink the Crackle Paint background stamp in Smoky Slate, face up .  Lay the Whisper White top layer (3-3/4 x 5) on top of the inked stamp and press and smooth - pressing harder around the sides than in the middle area where you will stamp the horse.  Lightly sponge the edges with Smoky Slate. Stamp the trees once in Night of Navy in the upper left and once again without re-inking and slightly offset.  Stamp the "Go for it!" in Night of Navy in the upper right. Using Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends, l

STAMPIN' UP!'s HAPPY TAILS for Birthday (SNEAK PEEK) - April Stamp Camp - RGB CODES

Hello, Stampers!      I will be hosting Stamp Camp next Saturday, April 13, at 10 AM, here in Mooresville, IN.  I you are local (including Indianapolis) and would like to join us, let me know by the end of the day, Monday (April 8).  Now, on to this card.       You know, sometimes we are not thrilled about an upcoming birthday - the older we get, especially - been there, done that.  I've mentioned before, that I've been starting to print my own, original  sentiments for the inside of a card.  So, we will use one of my original sentiments for this Happy Tails, "not so thrilled to be having a birthday" card.             TIP:   D id you know that you can use color codes to match SU! colors when creating a document or online?   After over 10 years as a Demonstrator, I finally found out about it - I never asked - who knew?  They are called RGB/HEX codes - and numbers correspond to each color. HEX for online use and RGB for MSWord or other software.  A generous, ta

STAMPIN' UP!S COUNTRY FLORAL DYNAMIC TIEF - THE ALL-OCCASION CARD FOR YOUR PERSONAL STASH

Image
Hello, Stampers!      I can't get enough of this Dynamic TIEF - Country Floral.  This TIEF will be carried over to the Annual Catalog.      I created this simple card (and others) to keep on hand - an appropriate sentiment to be die-cut or punched out and added later, as needed.  It's a little bright and cheery for a condolence card,* but it's just right for Easter, spring, birthday, anniversary, get well or "just checking in."  The details are below. *See my  February 28  post for a softer look that would be appropriate for a condolence card. Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net    Details The Gingham Gala DSP covers the front of the card base, an A2 top fold in Whisper White Thick CS.  The Country Floral embossed piece is 1/4 sheet of Shimmery White CS, trimmed to 5 x 3-3/4 after embossing. After embossing, I used Stampin' Blends in the colors below to color the flowers and leaves and a few random larger dots here and there.

STAMPIN' UP'S LET IT RIDE - ALCOHOL WESTERN SKY

Image
Howdy, Stampers!      I love horses, and today's card is a shameless CASE from a post on Pinterest by Jacquelyne Laburda, an artist in British Columbia.  I shamelessly used the same colors on my background, which brings to my mind sunset in big sky country.  It's actually pretty simple to do, so let's get started! Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Details 1/4 sheet Glossy White CS (you can trim to 5 x 3-3/4 later); Basic Black CS 5-1/4 x 4 for mat; Whisper White Thick CS for base. Wet some large cotton balls (1 for each color) with rubbing alcohol (70% is fine) and add a drop of refill to each of Calypso Coral, Lovely Lipstick and Gorgeous Grape.  Lightly wipe or drag each color across the Glossy CS until you've achieved the look you want.  Try to avoid puddling and don't hesitate to practice on some Glossy CS scraps.  The cotton balls will stay wet for a while. When the glossy is dry, using the Stamparatus , stamp the galloping ho

LESS IS MORE CHALLENGE #392 and AAA CARDS CHALLENGE #137

Hi, Stampers!      I made this little note card to enter the Less is More Challenge in about 10 minutes and then saw the challenge at AAA Cards - Made in Minutes.  So I used it to enter both!  Less is More Challenge #392 is titled "Shine a Light, "  AAA Cards Challenge #137 is titled "Made in Minutes."      I used Stampin' Up!'s Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes and a Paper Trey Ink set and dies I have had, literally, for years, called "Lighten Up."  I used Distress Oxide ink (Fossilized Amber) for the sponging and Versafine Onyx Black for the lamp base and sentiment.  A scrap of SU! Butterfly Gala DSP for the shade and done!      Wish me luck! Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net
