SALE-A-BRATION - ANOTHER COUNTRY FLORAL DYNAMIC TIEF SAMPLE

Image
Hello, Stampers!       Looks like March will be coming in like a lion in Indiana, so it's time for something to cheer us up!       Do you ever wonder how we made cards without the Big Shot?  I love the SAB, Phase 2 Country Floral Dynamic TIEF, don't you?  I posted a quick, monochromatic card on Feb 22, which you can see HERE .       I used Shimmery White CS for the embossed area, inked the TIEF with Soft Sea Foam, and colored the flowers and leaves with Stampin' Blends.  The mat and base are Pear Pizzaz and Petal Pink, the ribbon is Pear Pizzaz Shimmer.  Supplies are on my blog. HAND DELIVERED FOR ST. PATTY'S DAY and I FINALLY LEARNED HOW TO PRINT CUSTOM SENTIMENTS INSIDE A CARD!

Image
Card 1 Hello, Stampers!      I don't know about where you are, but here in Indiana, we have high winds - in fact, our mailbox post snapped!  It was getting loose and most likely the in-ground part was pretty rotten.  But still - yikes!      Anyway, I just wanted to make one or two St. Patrick's Day cards - as you have probably figured out, DH is Irish.  I don't have any Patty's Day sets, so I settled on the Stampin' Up! host set, Hand Delivered (p.229).  Also, I no longer have any Patty's Day sentiment stamps except my 15-year-old Teeny Tiny Wishes set, so what do I add on the inside?      I grabbed a big mug of tea and set to work.  I use MS Word so I looked online starting with that, and what I saw involved text boxes and paper sizes, etc., and my printer is pretty old, so I have to use standard sizes.  Me thought to meself, there must be an easier way.  After quite a bit of trial and error, I have three documents saved all set up, just using differ

STAMPIN' UP! ® COUNTRY FLORAL DYNAMIC TI EMBOSSING FOLDER - HAVE YOU SEEN.....?

Image
Hi,Stampers!      Look at the relief and texture on this card!  I have seen lots of ideas for this Dynamic TIEF that is FREE with a $50 purchase.  You can see it on the inside of the SAB brochure for Phase 2 (2/15 - 3/31 - on my sidebar), along with some lovely samples, and more online, including some great videos.  I will share a couple of my samples here.      Does it look like I colored the flowers on this piece with WW Craft Ink?  Uh uh.  I inked the background of the TIEF!  It was super easy.  I think I could have used a lighter, brighter yellow, like Daffodil Delight, but I used So Saffron, the color of the card stock.  You can use any color you choose, but for this recipe, I'll stick with So Saffron.  Let's get started! Happy Stampin’! Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Instructions Card base is Smoky Slate, 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4; two pieces of So Saffron (or, really, any lighter color you choose - Grapefruit, Blushing Bride, Pool Party, Bal

Stampin' Up!® LASTING LILY SYMPATHY CARD

Image
Hello, Stampers -      The majority of the sentiments in the Lasting Lily Stamp Set (FREE with $100 order) are for sympathy cards.  In yesterday's post, I shared an Easter card.  I came across the embossed lily idea online and since it seemed to show best on black, I figured this one should definitely be a sympathy card, much as we hate to have to send them.  Let's get started!        You can find a product list on my blog . Sue Duffy ~ mandsduffy@comcast.net Instructions Card base is WW Thick CS; the Daffodil Delight layer is 4 x 5-1/4 and the black started out as 5 x 3-3/4.  Scraps of Shimmery White and Daffodil for the sentiment. Lightly dust the black cs with the Embossing Buddy, then stamp Lily, stem and leaf with Versamark ink; cover with White EP and heat emboss. Cut a curved edge on the black cs by hand or use the curved edge die from the In the Woods Framelits Dies, placing die at roughly 1" from right edge of black at top and bottom. Highlight
