NORTHERN LIGHTS OVER THE MOUNTAINS

Hi, Stampers!
Today's inspiration is the Northern Lights.  It's a simple sponging technique and there are some videos online.  I tried to recreate what I call the "curtain" type of Lights.  I Googled images of the Lights online and went from there.  The Lights are perfect for coordinating with the Mountain Air Bundle, which will be carried over, but not at a 10% bundle discount.
I used Mossy Meadow ink on Mossy Meadow CS for the tree line, stamped off once. The mountains are stamped in black onto Navy CS.
You can find colors and materials I used by clicking "Read more," or "Read in browser" to visit my blog.

CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THESE SWEET MEERKATS! and UNDER MY UMBRELLA BUNDLE

Hi, Stampers!

Another easy share for you.  I know SAB is over, but I also know The Gang's All Meer was a very popular FREE set, so thought I'd share another card; this time in combination with the Under My Umbrella Bundle.  Materials below.

STARTING TODAY - MORE SALE-A-BRATION FREE ITEMS

Hello, Stampers!
It's been a while - our first cruise and travel fun and some not so fun - DH and I ending travel with sinus infections and lolling around the house for a week!  I even postponed March stamp camp to the 14th.  BUT, I'm feeling better now, so onward to SAB-2.
Remember, that with China extending it's New Year due to the Coronavirus, although SU! attempted to stock up, some Sale-A-Bration items are limited and may run out before the promotion ends March 31.  For example, I think the Flowering Foils Specialty DSP (#152312) is going to be quite popular, so you might want to shop sooner, rather than later if that is on your list (using the Host Code, of course ↗).  😀
Need a little help getting to $50?  Some great add-ons are refills for your 2018-2020 In Colors!*  You know they will run out fast after SAB.  The pads are already listed as "low inventory."
*Blueberry Bushel (love it), Pineapple Punch, Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, and Call Me Clover.

THE POPPIES ANGLE - A FREE TUTORIAL

Hello, Stampers!
I've created a photo tutorial for cutting the DSP angle for the above card front my January stamp camp, mostly because I am somewhat math-challenged and became frustrated trying to create this card using strictly measurements.  Just click below for the step-by-step.
I hope you find it helpful.  If you would like a printable version, just contact me or leave a comment!  Products below.

I'VE BEEN MISSING! PAINTED POPPIES BUNDLE STAMP CAMP PROJECT

Hello, Stampers!
We are more than halfway through January and this is my first project post!  Yikes!  We traveled to Buffalo for Christmas and I've also been making reservations, learning lots online, and shopping for our first ever cruise!  Just a 4-night blues cruise to Nassau, but when it's your first time, boy, we are clueless!
Anyway, this is one of the cards we created this month at stamp camp.  The color inspiration was a happenstance.  I arrange my card stock in color families and in alphabetical order within the family and have been doing it that way for almost 17 years.  It just so happened that these three stacks ended up in a kind of stair-step on the shelf and voila!  I like bright colors, anyway, so...
As you can see, it's really pretty simple, but what you might not see in this shot is that the larger blooms are enhanced with the Shimmery Crystal Effects from the Holiday Catalog.  The large poppy was stamped with Stazon onto watercolor paper and watercolored, as were the leaves.  Measurements and products to follow.
Don't forget!! FREE Sale-A-Bration item with a $50 or $100 purchase.  Planning to shop?  Please use the current Host Code on my blog sidebar.  Thanks!

CHRISTMAS STAMP-A-STACK SAMPLES - #1

Hello, Stampers!
It's been a while!  I've been busy furniture painting and preparing for last Saturday's Christmas Stamp-a-Stack.  This is the first of the five cards we made (4 each).*  It is really quite simple and I think you can duplicate it just by looking at the supplies we used below.  The main ingredients are the Merry Moose Bundle** and it is based on the template for the sample on page 4 of the Holiday Catalog!  More info HERE.

FREE AS A BIRD EASY TRANSITION

Hi, Stampers!
I've neglected my blog and stamping lately for furniture painting, but now I'm between layers and can post.
We created the above card at July Stamp Camp (see my post dated July 17).  I thought it might look cute for Christmas with some Chickadees and plaid, so here it is.  I kind of wish the branch didn't have flowers on it and tried to disguise them as berries with Shimmery Crystal Effects and embellishments - not necessarily successfully, but I still like it. Click here for the details.

IT'S STILL FALL AND I DO LOVE FALL COLORS! + STAMPIN' TRIMMER

Hi, Stampers!
It's about time, you say?  I just realized my last post was almost 10 days ago!  Time flies when you're having fun (or re-painting furniture) and losing a day to computer issues.  BUT, I digress.
First, the new Stampin' Up! Paper Trimmer (Paper Trimmer, item 152392, $25.00 US) will be available November 1st!  Click the image below to go to my October 6 post for more details.  (Multi-packs of cutting blades will be available in January.)

Now, about this beautiful fall card.  If you own the lovely new Gathered Leaves Dies, yay!  I don't.  Do you have the Colorful Seasons set and Seasonal Layers dies? Then you're all set to create some great projects similar to those showcased with the Come Together suite!  Details here.

MARKERS TECHNIQUE TO CREATE FALL WITH WINTER WOODS - October Stamp Camp

Happy Fall, Stampers!
I've seen a couple of versions of a color-layering technique with this set and the Stamparatus, one or two with Sponge Daubers and Patty Bennett has a video tutorial (using mostly greens) with Stampin' Write Markers.  You can find it here.
Basically, you just use any colors you want - we used colors for Fall - place your stamp where you want it on your card front, pick it up with your Stamparatus and off you go!  Your Simply Shammy or baby wipes will come in handy, too.
NOTE:  Color the tree trunks last, just in case your paper inadvertently moves a little. More here...

SNOW DOESN'T JUST MEAN WINTER! STAMPIN' UP! SNOW FRONT STAMP SET - PSST!

Snow Front (Photopolymer) #150483  $22
Host Code  HJ9CHKVS

Psst!  Mystery One-Day Sale Coming Next Week!

Hi, Stampers!
Click the photo to get a close-up look at the stamps and click here to go to Pinterest to get some ideas, from works of art to the clean and simple. Of course, almost any set with trees grabs me, and I love the little deer!  Think about how you might combine it with parts and pieces of your Waterfront stamp set (#146386, p.125 AC) and more.  I love the samples I've seen with the Wrapped in Plaid Specialty DSP (#149596, p.14 HC) as the background layer.  Trees and holiday plaids, what could be better?  ;-)

  • There are so many things you can do with this set. You can create a complete scene, or take little elements and create something new entirely, or create a no-layers card (some of my favorites, especially for note cards). The opportunities are endless.
  • So. Many. Layers! This stamp set was designed as a Two-Step set, so pack on those layers, just like the above Merry Christmas sample. You can layer as much or as little as you want, and even mix in other elements.
  • This stamp set may be called Snow Front, but that doesn’t mean it HAS to be just for winter. You can use it all year! You can even CAS the Congratulations sample and make a beautiful spring scene. So enjoy the seasons, and get creative.
  • I've added links to products I've mentioned below.

FUN HALLOWEEN NOTE CARDS - October Stamp Camp

Hi, Stampers!
Each of us played around and made a version of this note card at my October Stamp Camp.  Love the books from the Monster Bash DSP.  The little spider jar is fussy-cut from one of the sheets in that pack, as well.  We used mostly retired stamps and a few other retired products. I also had available the stamps included with the October Paper pumpkin treats kit - love the skeletons!  We used the Monster Bash Enamel Shapes, Cat Punch and the retired Bitty Bat Punch - each of us just did our own thing.  Products here.

Another card from September stamp camp.  I love, love this photographic Pressed Petals Specialty DSP, which perfectly coordinates with the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape.

HAVE YOU STARTED YET? THINK YOU MIGHT RUN SHORT? PAPER PUMPKIN CHRISTMAS KITS!

Hi, Stampers!
Just a little heads up for your Christmas card-making.  Since I have no handmade cards left in my Christmas stash from previous years, I believe I'm going to need the October kit especially.
Paper Pumpkin will have two kits for the Holidays - the October kit (available now through October 10) will contain 10 cards with envelopes.  Coordinating colors are:  Early Espresso, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Shaded Spruce.  The November kit (October 11 through November 10, will contain all you need for 24 tags, 4 different sizes and the same coordinating colors.
REMEMBER, if you are already a subscriber, you need do nothing if you want both months' kits.  If you want one and not the other, just be sure to suspend your kit for that month, on or before October 10 or November 10, whichever is relevant.

SEPTEMBER STAMP CAMP SNEAK PEEK

NEW HOST CODE:  4AGPNC44

Hello, Stampers!
Just a quick post to give a peek at one of the cards we will be creating at Stamp Camp on Saturday, September 21.  I came across a similar idea online (of course), but with a Pigment Sprinkles background.   I have shown the primary products below and will go into more detail when I post after Stamp Camp.  Be sure to RSVP if you would like to attend!

IT'S NEVER TOO EARLY TO START PREPARING FOR CHRISTMAS! and STAMPIN' UPDATES and TIPS

Hello, Stampers!
Some of you are probably surprised to hear from me because right now we are supposed to be in Nova Scotia on a tour.  Long story short, hurricane Dorian resulted in our flight to Halifax from Toronto being cancelled on Saturday, and I wasn't able to book flights for Sunday before they were sold out, although I'm not sure if they would have flown as scheduled, either.
Anyway, above is a little stop-motion video to nudge you toward deciding what you'd like to create for the holidays, because we know it's never too early to start if you want to create your own holiday cards!  No, I haven't forgotten about Fall and Thanksgiving.  ;-)
Speaking of creating, Paper Pumpkin usually has some great Fall and Christmas ideas to speed things along.  (I hope you were able to sign up for your PP Halloween treats kit this month!)

SIMPLE WATERCOLOR MAGNOLIA and a Reminder

Hi, Stampers!
I hope you enjoy a pleasant Labor Day and that you have lovely weather for what is considered summer's last hurrah.  :-(   But, one good thing about September, besides that it's usually a beautiful month, it's Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog time!  The HC is open for business on Wednesday, September 4.   Okay, to this card...
I saw the original of this card on Pinterest by Debbie Henderson - I like hers better, but thought I'd share mine, anyway, 'cause it's still pretty, I think.  I don't think you can exactly duplicate with water-coloring - either you've got it (the talent) or you don't - I'm somewhere in between I think.
Anyway, click here or the photo for the details.  TFL

FIRST CHRISTMAS CARD IDEA - STAMPIN' UP! MERRY MOOSE (PUNCH) BUNDLE SNEAK PEEK - Available Sept. 4

Hello, Stampers!
As a demonstrator with SU!, I can pre-order from catalogs a month in advance, so I've had the Merry Moose Bundle (p.27) for a week or so.  I've been itching to experiment with it for Christmas - you know it will be here before we know it!  Links will go live Sept. 4.
Since I was experimenting, I used a retired plaid Christmas DSP, but for the real thing, I will use paper from the Wrapped in Plaid Specialty 6x6 Pack (pp.12-15 HC).  I am partial to plaids for non-secular holiday cards.
I used two more new products in the Holiday Catalog, as well.  Basic Pattern Decorative Masks (p. 35) and Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink Pad for the background and to stamp the moose silhouette, which is popped up on Dimensionals.  The Delicata is much prettier IRL - nice and sparkly.
The card Base is Thick WW, as is the punched moose.  The third largest Stitched Rectangle Die can be used to cut the white layer - the edges are sponged with Delicata Gold. The scarf is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and fussy-cut and the inside stamping is also Cherry Cobbler.  To make a lot of these, I would probably leave off the scarf.  Thanks for looking.  Find product photos here.
