EXPERIMENTING WITH ALCOHOL LIFT INK
It has been quite some time since I've posted. Long story short, two weeks ago I severely twisted my right side lower back and pelvis and was pretty much flat for a week and could not sit in a chair or at my laptop or stamping desk at all. It's been a slow process, lots of PT. Went grocery shopping for the first time today!
Anyway, I've been dabbling in alcohol inks before all this happened (not very good at it) and after watching a video or 12 (LOL) about lift inks, I wanted to try it. I used a die from Smooth Sailing to make a stencil for the kelp and seaweed on the left, a couple of little grasses from High Tide, and coral, seahorse, jelly fish, etc. from the Whale Done set. The sentiment is "Deeper than the ocean...," by Lavinia Stamps.
The technique is pretty simple. On an alcohol inked background, just stamp or stencil the desired images with alcohol lift ink and immediately dab off with a soft cloth. I used the Stamparatus so I could do this twice. After dabbing off excess, then gently rub and the image appears more pronounced. The SU! products I used are listed below.
